ever since i got my rcp track, it's been changing... that is the awsome beauty of this track! every few weeks i move the hills, mounds, obstacles around making it a new track to race even though the layout is the same. i will be changing that too as soon as the pit lane option shows up on my door step.

this weekend i move the boxes underneath my track to create elevated/banked turns! it's really fun. i'v taken alot of pictures to show how well it works for both racers and overlands

well, without further ado...her is my rcp track gallery (http://mini-zracer.com/gallery/album194)

well, i've added a few more short video's of some laps on my track in with a few other cars. more video's (http://mini-zracer.com/gallery/album194)

btw, i had to use the camera so my cousin and brother are doing the driving in all these...

Nice disclaimer on the driving. That looks like a noce setup. I have to seriously think about getting one of those. Now if I can just convince my wife  .

i'm seriously entertaining the idea of asking any local z racers to come over when scheduled as we are looking for some new competition;) my cousin keeps beating me and i sometimes beat my brother... i need someone else to challenge for the lower finishes:p

i got my pit lane kit in the mail so we decided to completely change my track layout today. it's now much larger but also more fun!

i'll have some pics up tomorrow when there is more light... in the mean time i got a few track video's. you can see today's action here (http://mini-zracer.com/gallery/album194?page=7) , look for the title's with 04.03.04 in them. i will also try to get some video of my f1's inaction as well as my new rolling brick (mercedes benz g55 amg).

ok, i got up early this morning and tried out a crude mini-z cam:rolleyes: it was not easy to say the least to control the z with a camera taped to it. you'll see more than a few rollovers;)

trip around the track on the diablo (http://mini-zracer.com/albums/album194/trip_around_the_track_on_the_diablo.wmv) after one too many rollovers, i just parked it

Very nice track setup from the pic 0776 below. I remembered you said that is 1 Wide Oval and 1 Wide L right. Do you have the Length ' and Width ' ?

Thanks.

Tag? More like destruction derby. :D What kind of video setup are you using? What are you using to take the videos, and what video edting software are you using?

i use a canon powershot a70 camera with a 256md cfc card on the mdeium setting for video resolution. i upload/edit/save files in microsoft movie maker which comes with winxp. these last 2 seems to be worse in terms of clarity and i can't figure out why as i thought i did everything the same way.... i really don't know much more than opening them up and saving them (video files).

The first rule for playing "tag".
When you tag someone, they're IT!
You don't have to keep tagging them. LOL

Tag, you're it.
tag, you're it.
tag, you're it.
Tag, tag, tag, ,tag, tag...

I'd re-title it to "A Game of Tag(team)"

Great footage.

Hi Arch2b,

Where did you buy the Mini-Z style magazine? How much is it?

Thanks.

arch2b
2004.04.23, 05:31 AM
i bought mine from bithed over in japan and i think it costs about $9, well worth it ;) this was before i knew the shop here had them...i don't see them anymore though

the bettle asc can take one heck of a beating  it only lost one mirror and teh usual paint marks but it was well worth the fun :D i had tried to sell the beetle/roof rack but every buyer had me waiting or i never heard back from them :( , so now it's track fodder.

i've been asked what the diemensions for my track are and i had the time to use the calculator today ;)

my current track + pit lane is 9 x 10 tiles
tile=50 cm/19.68 inches
14.76 feet x 16.40 feet

for comparison....
new 96tile 30 cm track is 8 x 12 tiles
30 cm/11.81 inches
7.87 feet x 11.81 feet

Thanks for your reply with the diemensions.

How many RCP track you have (1 or 2 Wide L) from your RCP picture 14.76 ft x 16.4 ft?

Looks great! Hopefully, you might have that set up by the time I make the trip. ;) Will there be any elevation changes or just flat?

arch2b

the offroad trail will have lots of ups/downs and whatever else i can come up with ;) it only takes 5 min's to make banked turns

Hey Arch,

I was looking at your latest setup and it is killer but i'd love to know how you did one part. I see a narrow lane that you have made quite the hill climb out of going along your wall. How did you do that? Are they some Mini-tile tracks and if so how did you connect them to your 50cm without the conversion kit released yet?

Keep posting pics Arch, they are great.
By the way, VERY cute kid :)

arch what program do you use to make that type of layout on your PC? and anybody know where i can get a model program where i can design a basic paint scheme on pics of Autoscale bodies in 3D?

another question for ya Arch, how many offroad expansion packs do you have on your latest setup. i kinda want to do something like that on my track.

ok, the current track layou consists of one wide L, one offroad expansion pack, one pit lane option and two extra tile orders.

the "overland trail" is a series of outside straight 50cm tiles with teh pin hole alternating sides every tile inorder to keep the rails stright and strong enough to keep the wander's from pushing a rail off the non-pin side rail. the reason it winds around the corner is that when i made the enormous hill, it pulled the end connecting to the race portion of the track up too high so i added and extra tile which required making the trail longer so that i could use up the extra slack in the trail length. a half tile would be aswome but i did what i could to make it work and still be fun ;)

i use autocad to mock up track layouts. it's not the most efficent way but very easy for me given my experience ;)
