Why would you want that... a NiMH with 800+ Mah would work better unlees your trying to stuck a extra cell on your car...in witch case you might as well just buy a extra niMH and solder leads to the ends...good luck not spraying battery acid in your face.

i want these because they are lighter, they have no memory, and you dont need to discharge. they should give me a good power boost. i'll try and get some and tell you how it works out.

I had these on my xmod and I'm planning on getting them for my monster.

They are awesome batteries and Rob is an awesome guy to deal with.

I think you are referring to Li-POLY batteries with the "good luck not spraying battery acid on your face" comment ;)

if you have the money and charger, you can get more volts with less weight which is a good performance boost. for the regular joes like myself, i'll just throw 2 more nimh cells in there.

i wouldn't say you're a regular joe considering how many cars you have...

hmm..... nice mod 3.6V + 3.6V = 7.4V   Will kyosho's MR02 electronic survive at 7.4V ?? Do anyone know the maximum voltage for MR02 ??

Should I give it a try ?? :D

A little search found this post. Perhaps, you can email this MZR member directly and ask him for an update on his kits.

Most likely, but it could be a while. I am going to work on a kit for the MiniZ next. Take a look at the XMOD videos to get an idea of the speed, its pretty much the same motors and similar electronics.
Thanks,

yeah i talked to him through email and he said he will be coming out with a kit for the mini-z cars but you could make one yourself with the smaller mini-z car lithium batts in the same configuration as the mini-z monster kit. so i plan on doing that soon.

I wouldn't buy it... its a total rip off... you can buy everything in the kit for less then $20 ...just search the tiny rc forums..

Prove it.

Post a link to a thread listing a place that sells the same batteries for $20 and I'll buy them right now.

like i said you can make the kit pretty cheaply yourself instead of buying a premade kit.

Yepp, I saw the pic ( lithium battery AAA size ) in his monster truck.

So, will it survive @ 7.4V ???

3.6 x 2 = 7.2v

according to him, yes it will.

and the cells are closer to AA size not AAA.

I can set anyone up with what they need for a li-ion kit. the price: $35 with no charger. I can and will direct you to a good charger for a low price. I use 3.7v 700mah betteries. For $10 extra, I could set you up with 3.7v 850mah batteries. You can either get them hard-wired together using high-quality silicone wire, or using 2 AA holders for ease of installation.

Email me: xmodsperformance@yahoo.com for details.

Be careful when installing these and a hotter motor. Even an Xspeed can kill your FETs at the higher voltage. I strongly recomend a FET upgrade before installing these cells. You may not need tham but it is a saftey precaution. Id rather buy a 2X2 stack and be able to run the hottest motors I can find than be limited to a stock motor and risk ruining my board.

This is 2000mah version of 3.6v AAA battery. Commonly used in laptop batteries. You can buy them with tab or w/o.

micro dean plugs? Here is the link.
You can get them from ************ for like $1.46....

FYI, I did buy my first set of individual cells from atomicmods.com but I bought 6 cells from the company I posted above. If you want more capacity try this one

this is 2400mah version of Li-Ion...

Again I used these, and it lasts forvever! I use them in my Team Losi Mini-T, XMODS, MR01 Mini-Z. This thing peaks at 8.4v charged. It is too much batteries to control most of the time in XMODS or Mini-Z. It is very fast but I'd rather race with my buddies with regular Ni-Mh AAA batteries. More fun this way. If I have urge to blast record run then I slap these batteries for serious burnout time.

Have fun guys! Li-Ion is cheap to own but invest on good charger that charges Li-Ions...

can these batts really handle the discharge rate needed in mini Ts?

Weight : Max. Charging current: 1C ( 2.4A ), Max. Discharging current 2.5C ( 5A )

most mini Ts need a lot more than that...

The 18650 cells are too large for my taste. I prefer the 14430 (http://batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1337) or 14500 (http://batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1336) cells personally. I did try installing some 18650's in an Xmod, and they would not fit between the wheels in the long wheelbase. The 14430's are about 1/2 the weight of the 18650's, and give the same voltage. They have less capacity, around 600mah on average.

Superpeltor, do you have any pics of how you installed the 18650's on the Xmod or Mini-Z? I think I can fit them on my Monster, but dont know about a racer.

You can fit 5 othere 2400mHA and so it would be 10 amp 7.2 volts and a REALLY long run time..

i dunno if you guys noticed but at the top of atomic mods site, it says MINI-Z MR02 they have a kit, and intructions for lithium on a mini-z

Question? Dose the mushroom cloud on the AtomicMods logo have anything to do with what happens when you over charge Lithium Ion cells?

SuPrA_dRiFt3R
2005.02.14, 09:24 PM
no, because if you buy the chargers from him, it will stop the charging when the batteries get fully charged. its to stand for "nuking the competition" or leaving other cars in the dust.

I heard that more than 6v could fry the ESC in the MR01, is this true? is there a way to prevent this from happening besides internal FET upgrade, I already have that.

Ok, i found the thread saying you have to replace the cap that says "220 6v"

Well, my cap says "220 7p" Is that the same thing? and still havn't found a post that says where you can get replacement caps that fit on the PCB, any help would be very much appreciated.
