A couple hot laps through the leaves in my driveway and I'm missing the other side veiw mirror. So I went inside and popped off the roof scoop and the glass. 'Bout ready for paint. Whaddya'll think of a silver Viper with black stripes? I need some color ideas; and stripes are a must.

look at some old school muscle cars, you can find some cool color combinations sometimes. also some cool striping as it isn't used as much these days

I've always liked the Silver Viper with the Metallic navy stripes... kicks the crap out of the standard colors IMO.

That's nice, 27. That's along the lines of what I was thinking anyway; except black stripes. I forgot about my friend's car:

I've got some nice silver and I think I've got a couple different shades of blue. Yeap, Mercedes silver (for my D2 model) and official Ford blue pearl.

On another custom note; I finally finished my RSX Speed World Challenge car. It looks ok; no decals though. I doubt I'll race it; the wheels came out too nice.

I think silver with navy stripes is also a Shelby series 1 color scheme, so go with something more unique or more retro. And maybe integrate the number patch (circular) into the stripes.

I think the reason the Viper got the colors of Silver w/ blue stipes was because people that helped with the Shelby helped work on the Viper as well... I read that in a magazine once, not sure to what degree it extends though.

Yeah I figured you'd like that one. I dunno about the British Racing green n black though. Does Kyosho make any Aston Martin Autoscales? :D :D

Cool samples.
It's a small scale but do you think you can do the thin stripes on the sides?

Twenty-Se7en

Ken do you mean like a small 0.25 cm stripe, or even smaller like pin stripe down the length of the car about the level of the door handles? I think that it could look slick as hell if done right... but it could take some effort to keep it a nice straight line...

Ken Mifune

Actually, I meant the thin stripes on the sides of the thick stripes. IMO, It adds a touch of realism.

ah... I completely misunderstood... I like it, but it isn't Viper style at all...

I thought Chattavega was looking for retro.

hmmm, can't recall and didn't see it at a quick glance back at the thread, but if so that would definitly give the car a retro look :D

Those thin stripes make it look too Z/28ish. Another color combo red/ w yellow stripes, then it would look like Hulk Hogans Viper.

I like the mini-stripes idea; I know Pep Boys sells pinstriping in very small widths; as well as bigger ones. Here are some more ideas:

I'm still undecided. :o I reckon I'll be able to knock off a little more paint tonight at the races; that'll make paint-prep easier.
