Man it's raining up here in Hixson; or at least it was. Hopefully it won't while we're at the shop and it won't be too bad at the courts. We'll see.

I'll go on and say no. At 4:30, it's raining up here. It won't dry out enough to be drivable; and that's assuming it stops raining right now. (*looks outside*) Nope, still raining. :( Oh well, I guess I'll go to work. :p

i Am very jealous of you guys having so many interested in mini-z in a close area

i think i seen another thread about you guys trying to secure a wharehouse to run in

i have been thinking about this too for when and if i can get some local racers

try the ymca and local churches or lodges even they usually have large areas and meeting rooms and dont forget school gyms it might be worth a shot if you do try something like that let me know im interested in your ideas on this

Make a few of these for some OLs to pull around ;)

pHREDD
2004.11.11, 09:06 PM
You would have to have a pretty hot motor to pull it around :D

Ninja
2004.11.11, 09:26 PM

ChattavegasSE

Whatshisname at LHS told me there were reliability issues with the Mini Quake.

Ninja
2004.11.11, 10:27 PM
Gradey? or someone else?

Ninja

ChattavegasSE
2004.11.11, 10:45 PM
Just reliability, IIRC. That was a couple weeks ago when I was looking at a Mini T and a MZ Monster.

Hey Ninja, 'bout that Mini Quake; did you buy it with servo and ESC? I've read a lil 'bout 'em and they look tough enough for me. :D I'd like to check that sucker out.

Ninja
2004.11.12, 02:00 PM
yes it comes completely Ready to Run. even has batteries and charger for the pack. for the same cost as a Kyosho Mini Z Monster and it is actually 4WD. if you want to meet up somewhere tomorrow evening or Sunday I could let you check it out

The quakes 1/18th right? There is a big difference between 1/18 and 1/2x...I can even cole close to running my mini-t or hpi micro in the house

Ninja
2004.11.12, 02:16 PM
it is 1:18 scale. and very quick, if you go reverse and hit the throttle it will flip completely over. i love this thing, it climbs really well. the battery pack is a little lacking though as it is only 600 Mah it doesnt last very long, and gets pretty warm. but i can always remedy that ;) it was $185 + tax. tower has them for $179, but i wasnt about to bother over $5.

*edit* about the speed, it is as fast as my stock TC3

what does tha battery look like? Think its possible to get some matched cells and make a pack?

Ninja
2004.11.12, 02:19 PM
yeah i am going to look for some more batts, it looks just like a standard 6-cell 7.2v pack but it is made with 1/2 A sized batts instead of the standard C sized ones, so it is considerably smaller

ruknd@aol.com
2004.11.12, 02:23 PM
Oh, there are matched cells that size. If its square try a rocket pack (trininity or peak makes it cant remember whaich one but I've got two for my mini-t and hpi micro)...if its not flat you can buy really nice matched cells like the 1/10th ones but that same size. Lots of companies make them I've got a ratzas kit. Plus its fun to build battery packs.

yeah im about to go look on a battery site i like to visit now and then

its trinity that has them... http://www.teamtrinity.com/batts/matched.asp
they are ok but I prefer Peak racing batteries but I don think they make that size.

Well Ninja, when you get tired of it, lemme know. ;)

Ninja
2004.11.12, 04:40 PM
well i have already snapped 2 of the drive axles :( i will just have to build me some more :D this time out of alloy :D

Ninja
2004.11.12, 09:53 PM
fixed the drive axles, these things are weak, but easily fixed. it was more or less (in real car terms) a broken Universal joint. they are made of plastic, i replaced the cross-pins with metal ones on most of the universals :D now its all good :D
