IWAVER has released a new body. It has a 98mm wheelbase. Not sure about wheel offsets. Available in different colors.

Take a look.

I never really realized how much overhang there was in the rear... that makes that car really long, and the tail an easy target to get pushed and spun out... will have to try one though... the blue color is the nicest IMO

i'm not a fan of the body at all. it sits oddly like the carrera iwaver did so badly.

i posted these pictures (http://www2.mini-zracer.com/gallery/11-19-05-GTG?page=5) last week

if only the front was lower and looked less empty around the wheelwells... other than that I think it looks nice...

I wonder if the GT40 they have released now is a different body than before because they suggest using wide rear wheels with it and the old one couldn't use wide rears.

It has to be new. There was no way for the old IW GT40 body to fit on anything other than the 01 chassis. Plus on TE's site it says it fits the Firelap 2.0, new IW02 and MR-02. And now they have the Enzo body available. Might have to pick up a few of the IW bodies. Rather beat these up instead of the ASC bodies.

Will the shop be stocking the IW and Firelap bodies?

According to this pic taken from www.bit-racer.de it is a new body, on right is the old "tight" GT body.

I like the new Saleen. Arch, there is probably a way to drop the front regarding the gap between the wheel arch and tire. For my part I use spacers and long screws to lower the front body mount.

The new Ford GT look's better than the old one. With the front high like that I wonder if that bulky steering servo may have something to do with it?

Apparently there is still not enough clearance for the new steering servo and tie rod on the new IW02. Follow InZane's links from this post: http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=205190&postcount=31

Ouch, yes I did not figure the servo on the new IW02 whas sitting so high, what a design  The Saleen body will definitly go on my MR02
BTW my racecar is a IW/Firelap Mc Laren + MR02 MM chassis. The IW body is a one piece design and is very very durable.

The news of the day is actually that they have the Enzo now too! Also in one piece molded I guess...

hi haco ! if you check ggracing you will see i've ordered a couple of those enzo's for racing @ my track :D

i really like those firelap body's...
they are cheap, stiff, cant lose any parts and they are light ! perfect for racing ! ;)

I too am a fan of the firelap bodies... mostly for the price and weight... they do have their downfalls but for a cheap body they have certainly surpassed the quality of the minipower bodies.

Arch, the body on the new Iwavers chassis sits high in the front, at least it does for all my stock. Not sure why but it does just had to heat up the nose clip and bend it down a bit after that works great. The saleen body on a MR02/FL02 is perfect. The front is lower to match the rear. I don't have a pic of mine but it's all good.

Yes it does stick out quite far and look long on the track. The IW bodies are great for racing, light and strong. The windows are on part of the body so they'll never pop out and the mirrors are flexible. I prefer the maclaren over the saleen and the GT40.

I've compared the old IW GT40 body to the new one, and the new one is much wider and fits way better than the first one.

I can't wait until my enzos show up.

My one concern with iwaver bodies is the front offset...i agree that these bodies are excellently constructed and great for bashing other racers with :D but do the front fenders have enough clearance so you don't break your expensive plastic camber knuckles everytime you smack into a rail? the mclaren f1 version of their bodies doesn't have this clearance at all and even on the straightaways if you slightly rub against the rails your car will get hung up and if you don't have alloy knuckles very well break the plastic ones!
Another consideration is do the iwaver saleen or enzo bodies have any offset? I would like to run enzo offsets on an enzo body!

thats true ! i race my mclaren firelap body on my RCP track and its aiming to get one lap without rubbing and flipping the car... luckely i have alloy knuckles but my servo isnt happy wit that :D
i also rub of the tires when i make a bad corner...

so now i ordered 2 enzo body's an i'm hoping that this problem is solved.

The new Ford GT has a similar problem to the McLaren. It is not wide enough for me to comfortably use it on a 0mm offset MR02. I currently have it setup with 1mm offset fronts on an MR015 chassis and it fits perfect.

i've seen the kyohso gt and it's not the best race body unfortunately. the forn body wraps in leaving the wheels/tires exposed which mkaes it very easy for the tires to be pulled off when you graze a rail. it's an awsome body but it's just not a racer :(

Is that only when you use the stock GT offset wheels? If you use 0mm offset wheels I dont think that would happen. Another thing is that if a vette (or almost any car for that matter) rear ends a Ford GT, it will tend to get scooped up and flip.

what i saw was with the stock wheels and the owner tired non offset wheels. both seemed to suffer the same problem. he and i were dissapointed as it really is a nice looking body and the rear track width is nice and wide.

When I compared the Iwaver GT to the Kyosho GT, they were very close size wise. The Iwaver is a little narrower in the front tough. I would only really recommend the body for an 015 much like the Iwaver McLaren body. You can go a little offset, I find 1mm fronts fit well without rubbing (my tires are a bit older, so I would have to check with new tires).

how are you fitting 02 bodies on the 015 chassis? What kind of mod ... and how do they handle?

i've run the mclaren on teh 015 chassis and it runs well. the rear at the body clips is pushed out fractionally and clk offset wheels fit perfectly. overall it looks nice and runs good! i had pictures posted somewhere...

I prefer running 1mm offset front wheels on an 01 or 015 with the McLaren and the Iwaver Ford GT. When I was running the McLaren on the 01 with 1mm offsets, I still managed to snap a servo gear and a knuckle on an 01. I think it handles VERY well with those offsets. Possibly better than on an 02. I shimmed the front about 1mm with a PN ML motormount and damper on the rear and Iwaver diff.

and don't mind those alloy rims, they have zero offset as you can see...
so i putted the F50 rims on them and it looks like this now(dont mind the bad quality, they have been made by cell phone) :

What is the size and build difference between the Kyosho and Iwaver bodies? That is what I am interested in... it always seems that the Iwaver bodies don't quite match in size and tend to make the car feel odd...

I've never had a Kyosho Enzo but the Iwaver model seems pretty nice. Car handles well with it. Has same offset as Kyosho.
Here's mine.
