I want an FET upgrade for my old Iwaver 02 (Like the Mini Z MR-02) but I can't install them with my soldering skills. What would be the easiest to install external FET upgrade for the Iwaver? Are there any that you don't have to attach to the electronics?

Thanks,

TZW

The "whoa nelly" just requires you to remove the existing FETs and solder on the small wires. I think there is only a few that are out there for the 02 boards.

I saw one that looks like it attaches to strange places. I couldn't really tell from the description but if anyone could clarify how this is installed, it would be appreciated:

I'm no expert, but it seems like it runs directly on the batteries, and that the gate on the turbo FET's are opened with the current from the original motor terminal (by the original FET's)...

So:

The "Source" pins are hooked up to the main battery terminal.
The "Gate" pins are hooked to the motor terminal.
The "Drain" pins are hooked directly to the motor you're using.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm new to this Turbo business. Thinking of building my own external Turbo...

All the woah nelly series form the v1.1 to the deluxe should work fine with a IW board.
