just got my new 04 and i must say that the suspension set up is much better than kyosho's (the front as well as the rear). it is slow with stock motor. the remote is nice. the steering is plenty good with the new servo, at least as good as my mini z monster. the springs are a little too stiff on the suspension. so far i am impressed.

I've got one as well (like i needed another demo car yuk yuk) and it's not a bad little truck. It's slow out of the box, but a simple motor change fixed that right away. the remote is good feeling and works quite well. The body is a hard shell and mounts the same way as the MZM, the steering is much improved over the last 04, and the front suspension works well. The rear shock setup is alittle busy but works ok. I can't see this being a good crawler, but the track performance is better than the MZM (solid axle trucks). I find it alittle front heavy, the front bumper sticks out quite a bit. When you jump it it noses in, on the bright side it rolls very well!

yes it is the one with 6 shocks as you explained, and any mini z body will fit.

Whats with all the double posting?

I'm running a Iwaver Plus motor right now, an Xspeed will be fine in the 04. Yes it is the one with 6 shocks, and yes you can run Kyosho monster bodies on it.

the new o4 has independant front suspension, a "beefy" front bumper, a different steering setup (micro servo with saver), the rear suspension is a little different too. the old 04 is basically the same as the mini z monster. the front end is better on the new 04 no doubt (stronger).

So I'm confused. If the old 04 was the same as the Mini-Z Monster, are you saying the new one is improved relative to the MZM?

BTW - should I assume from this thread the 04 comes with a superior transmittier to the MZM? IF so, what makes it a better TX?

yes the new 04 is improved reletive to the mzm. yes the new 04 comes with a superior tx. it has abs controlls, lcd screen, digital trim, 10 model memory, digital battery voltage display, d/r steering

I may end up getting one of these also. I presume assuming I choose different frequencies MZMs and 04s will run at the same time.

yes . the crystals are interchangeable between mzm and 04 aswell.

Thanks. Ultimately I would like to have 6 monsters in different body styles all for about $100 initial outlay. So there are three colors of waver I think. 6 of the lower priced MZMs. However, I realize the $102 delivered MZM I got was a special case and I might not find another one like that.

Will likely take me a couple of years to acquire all these.
