I just got in some GPM alloy shocks for my MZM and I would like to know how do you replace the springs. It looks as though you would unscrew the end from the shaft but I don't want to break them.

Thank You,

Unscrews from the top I believe. If they are like the stock they unscrew.

Byebye,

Thank you for the reply but the GPM alloy shock do not have a screw on top as the stock ones do. This is why I would think one would have to unscrew the bottom rod end off the shaft but with holding the shaft with long nose pliers the rod end does not want to unscrew and I don't want to mess these up so I'll leave the springs on until I'm sure. These shock came with two extra pairs and I just wanted to put the more stiff springs on.

Thank You,

Yes you have to remove the ball cap from the bottom. What I do is lock the shaft with the spring holder at the bottom. Kind of hold it at an angle so it pinches the shaft. Then twist off the end. It minimizes any damage to the shaft. You can also remove the top cap, compress the spring. and grab the top of the shaft with some pliers. Hope this helps :)
