Once again, nice job. You might want to put some heat shrink over your tabs. Ive had problems with that in the past

That actually looks really cool. Any video? I bet it had to be a fun project. Wongy008 came over this weekend with one but it didn't have an iwave board, it was normal RS EP. It was way to fast for the track and either had too much grip or not enough.

Makes me want to finish mine.

These posts just answered my question from the other site. Nice job again man. With that Cirrus Micro Servo, that steering must be really nice.

i'll make a video soon, as soon as i get the car under decent control. i can't floor the trigger at any point in time, there really is too much power afforded by the lithiums. but if i can keep the trigger under 50% it's drifts very well, i can throw it into almost any angle and radius drift i want.

the turning radius is about 6" to boot... i'm so happy.

i'll heatshrink the antenna. ;)

I'm sure the lithiums is alot to handle. Like you said, it has so much power you can drift whenever you want. :D

6" dang, that's awesome. Good job again.

VERY nice work. I love the fact that your pics aren't blurry, along with the level of uniqueness.

oh right... video. :) i'll have to find a time when there isn't any homework due and i'm not planning a trip to the other side of america... :( it might have to wait.

in the meantime, i made a lip kit and splitter for the car. despite the obvious imperfections, i think the bodykit looks rather decent.

i don't know when i can drop down to the LHS again, but when i do i will be making a crapload of decals... some to go on this GSR Time Attack 22B STi. :)

ok, i can't edit for some reason...

i'd like to ask a favor of someone: if you have an MA-010, and bought the Atomic "TS" split-spoke wheels, could i see a picture of them installed in your car? i'm considering modding a set to fit on this impreza, as the gpm's i currently have look kinda ugly from head-on. i have to mess with the lighting to make them look decent in pictures...

one picture is enough please, i just need to know what the TS rims look like when they're actually under a shell.

what wing is that? I'd like one for my lancer I have.

sorry for bring up this old topic but anyway, this makes me want to do one. i just need a gen1 and where did you get the parts for it. i just want to know where did you get the electronics and how you connected it

color01
2006.05.08, 12:16 AM
parts? various places... aeromicro for servos, toy-east for iwaver stuff, contact gpm directly for the alu parts. got everything else not mentioned off of friends. :)

i really wish i could've added some substance to this post after so long... but no video, the car's batteries are dead. :(

MINIz guy11

i cant find the servo anywhere. on one site, it said that its discontinued. is there a servo much like that i can buy? everything else i can get easily

color01
2006.05.08, 10:37 PM
the CS-4.4 is discontinued, look for a BMS-303 or something like that, made by blue bird. smallest 'normal' servo appropriate for this scale.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.09, 06:40 PM
ok, i found that one but is it exactly like it b/c i really want a tight turning radius. otherwise, how did you mount it and how did you do the wiring?

color01
2006.05.09, 08:19 PM
no freaking idea. ;) i took the risk with my parts, i can help all i can but there's still a risk involved with your project. :)

for a less sarcastic answer, any servo can be made to turn as tight as that. i had to turn down my steering throw to 40% so that the car wouldn't turn too sharply. so basically any servo can have that turning radius.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.09, 08:24 PM
so all i should do to wire it is to guess on what wire goes where and thats it?

color01
2006.05.09, 09:41 PM
yup, take all the guesses you want, i took three (two wires, three pins, lol...) and nothing's fried there. if you're using a decent transmitter you can always reverse the servo action.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.10, 06:40 AM
alright then. now i just need a gen1, iwaver board, servo and some rs and gpm parts.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.12, 11:04 PM
ok, color0, would a hitec hs 55 servo be good?

EsEmMods
2006.05.13, 01:57 PM
I think that servo is good for xmods cuz im pretty sure thats the one tinyrc recomends in there aftermarket electronics chassis kit.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.14, 05:35 PM
ok, now i have a idea on what my xmod will look like. its going to have the zero products pro stock chassis, CF edition
zero products pro mod chassis, red texalium editon
hitec hs 55
Z board
lots of gpm parts
AWD
stage 2, maybe atomic stock if i get a pinion puller
2s2p li po
gpm rims
choice of tires
cf shaft
ato mic mo ds wide track and regular shielded bearings
might get a rsx or mustang body
thats all i can think of now.

xwaver is a kool name to call it, i like the way the subaru body fits on there, nice, low, and sweet black wheels.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.15, 09:41 PM
yea, i love that body too but if i get it, its gonna be like i exactly copied color0 which i dont want to do

Nothing wrong with that  It's quickly becoming one of my favorite bodies. I'm also contemplating getting the 1:1. I've seen quite a few while here in the UK that looked just awesome! Only problem I have right now is getting the AWD to work as a racer rather than a drifter. I'm running two awd cars with drift tires and the other was suppose to be a OLPS car but it rolls to much.

Great job color0. Some one should make an all Subaru gallery.

anyway, i think ill use a Z body now. i have a spare ford gt which i think ill use.
ps: i wrote this in school

color01
2006.05.16, 11:33 PM
kyosho's ford GT? very tasty. ;)

byebye, i'm not sure this is a smart idea, because i try to drift everything with four wheels, but if you get the rear end of the 010 to kick out more in the turns, you can probably avoid the flipping issue. you'd have to turn down the steering throw to compensate, but by letting the rear end come out more you'd probably reduce the tendency for the car to 'dig in' to your RCP track.

MINIz guy11
2006.05.17, 04:48 PM
well, just tried to put it on and its going to be pretty hard. im redally not good at body modification and dont want to mess up a perfectly good Z body. now, i guess ill have to use a xmod body or something that will easily fit. i also like color0s wheels and i want to use Z tires for the choices so i really like that shell. where did you get it?
