uploading pictures of mine now! btw, you can get away with +3 wheels at the rear. +2 at the front leads to tires being peeled off on the rails.

Thanks for the picture. I see you Picked up a bit of grit there, you wasted no time getting it on the track. A third something!!!!! Can't beleive you don't have the poop on that yet. :D Nice pinion. Is it steel or Aluminum? I recently bought a couple of each but have been leery of causing wear on the spur gear so I have not tried them. Have you been running those pinions long? Any wear problems?

i recall this new something being mentioned before. i just don't recall the conversations.

it's the pn aluminum pinion. it's not bad but the super tiny grub screw and associated allen wrench are horrible. the wrench facets are soo tiny they get stripped way too easily. i would rather got with the new derlin pinions they have vs. more of these unless they used the same grub screw. i have not seen any significant wear on either the pinion or spur gear. yes, i ran it for a solid 20 minutes tonight! the track was very dirty so i picked up tons of dust/lint/track dirt.

Have you tried the HPI steel pinioins? They have a larger set screw/wrench.

Found the thread about the "3rd Something". Locwan said he thought it was a fuse. My apologies for taking the thread off topic.

I remember reading that that was supposed to pop and stop the motor to keep from burning the FETs.
