Hello. I am working on a new project. I am doing a show-only Infinity G35 Xmod Evo with full alloy from GPM. It will mostly be all red alloy with some silver accents here and there. The G35 will be AWD, ball bearings, lights, and stage 2 motor upgrade. While this will be mostly a show-car, it will also be able to race a few laps at the local RCP track.
I wish to show you my work in progress as it continues. Here is the chassis so far. Nothing special yet, just the GPM battery cover, front gear box, and front knuckles.

I'd also like to show you the beautifully machined rear gear box assembly. GPM does wonders for Xmods and I think their work is amazing!

This is actually two peices bolted together. Front/rear peice, and rear/rear peice.

Front knuckles, tie-rod, tie-rod protector.

All that's needed to complete are the rear swing arms, derlin gear, and rear differential that was missing in package.
Sadley, while all this alloy looks nice, it does add weight to the Xmod. So, this one might not be a racer, we'll see when it's finished.

the g35 is a nice car:) any chance you can get a weight for that brick?;)

A stock Xmod Evo weighs in at 120 grams.
The full alloy'd Evo weighs in at a heavy 160 grams. So yea, it's a brick. But aint' it a nice looking brick?

it's a pretty looking brick for sure :)

I will be getting another "brick" as part of a trade. This one will be all bronze colored alloy with some titanium accents. That too will be a G35 also, which I'm thinking of repainting a light gun-metal color. I think that will look sharp with the bronze and titanium.

Question for you light-heads. My G35 is fitted with Radio Shacks lights. I have a set of tiny yellow lights that I'd like to use for fog lights.

I suck at soldering, so what's the easist way to hook up these yellow lights? I have no difficulty drilling in the holes for the lights, but soldering is another issue.

Too what are you refering to byebye?

The total weight of the body with batteries. The Murcielago is a porker as well.

And to answer your light question. Just connect them in parallel with the head lights.

Oh sorry. The car's were weighed without batteries and body. Just the chassis its self.

Do you want the weight WITH the body and batteries?

Do you want the weight WITH the body and batteries?

Yeah that's what I was curious about.

Did you hook up those lights?

I'll weight it with batteries and body soon. Have not hooked up the fog lights yet. As this is mostly a display car, I wonder if there is a way to power the lights directly to the display case, rather than waisting the batteries for the car. I have a motorized turntable that was designed for 1/24 scale cars. I was wondering if I could some how add a plug to it that would go through the table down to the battery pack.

Ok, for those that want to know. Here are the weights with battereis and bodies installed.
Stock Xmod 210 grams
Alloy Xmod, get this, 250 grams! 40 grams heavier with the full alloy treatment!

Well, she is 98% finished. I got the silver rear arms and the derlin, "spelling?" motor gear in today. All that's left to finish this baby is the GPM derlin main gear, "one that goes between motor and differential, the rear diff, and the two center shaft gears.
I slapped on the red GPM alloy rims for the photo. But honestly, I like the chrome ones better. Plus the chrome ones help accent the silver much better.

Sorry, the flash sort of whitened the PCB cover.

Kind of looks like I painted it red doesn't it? Looks nicer in person.

Here is the one I'm getting in for trade. Bronze accented with Titanium finish. Bronze GPM wheels. Not sure which body will go on this one, but it'll come with another G35 which I'm thinking of repainting gun-metal.

Well, I decided to keep my red beauty, and I got the other one in the mail today. The bronze/titanium Xmod arrived and it looks beautiful. It is also a G35, and I think I'll be repainting that one gun-metal. I'll be posting pics soon!

Well, my second "brick" arrived yesterday. Here are some photos of the two G35's together. The one with the bronze colored wheels will be the gun-metal one when finished. Let me know what you all think,
