does anyone know if Kyosho has any plans to make a AWD monster truck or AWD overland? I thought I'd post something here thinking one of you might know the amswer to my question

It would be great, but I dont think there are any plans in the mix. Then again you never know what can happen. In the mean time I am stuck with an Xmod truck, but i am thinking about putting a board from a Mini-z in.

Iwaver has a nice 4wd monster like truck, except parts are unavailable :(
I am going to make another thread for this truck here to collect info.

That's pretty nice.

At the same time I wish a manufacturer would make the cars look more scale(which is one of the big reasons why i like mini-z in the first place).

I'd love to have a 4wd rally truck or something to that effect.

From what some one on another board mentioned (a guy from germany I believe) carson bught the european rights to xmods. He said those are basically jacked up xmods, but with the same electronics :(

I dunno though. So many rumors fly around about xmods. Ill know when I see better pics or a vid :D

I just got mine today.
out of the box it isn't that bad. quite fast for a stocker.
the nice thing is that the rims are attached with adapters that can be removed from the rim and make you able to use every mini-z wheel exept the awd ones so i put a pair of alu monster rims on right away.
I also retrofitted a overland body.
I havent had time to do anything else yet.
but the next thing will be a diffirent motor and bearings witch are also usable from mini-z.

Very nice!

So if there are some things that are compatible with Mini-Z/X-Mods people will start to buy it and if people start to buy it, brands like GPM will start to make hop-ups.
In my opinion it's a kind of mini E-Maxx.

Bye!

That looks pretty good, i just bought a Mini Z monster and love how it runs, but i have to say the first impressions of this look good, the jacked up suspension will make for a great crawler with a nice low gearing on it, but one thing i would love to see pics of is the controller, i always thought that one of the main things that let down the Xmod range was apauling electrics and very poor control. Is this compatible with a standard controller? as all previous Xmods were not!!

Also, is the Minidevil 4x4 or 2wd?

So, i bought it in Madrid (Spain) for just 60 and it works great!! I try a 10 years old Sanwa Dash Saber controller in my parents house and it works without problems but when i come back to Italy I tried with a new Sanwa MX-A and it doesn't work :(
The transmitter that comes with the car is this one http://www.bringans.com/images/acoms/techniplusv-1.jpg with the red buttons in grey colour and the red text in blue colour. It's much more serious than a normal X-Mods transmitter, but not so much as a mid level transmitter.

Yes, the Mini-Devil/Bull is 4wd and it comes with metallic CVD's.

Ciao!

That Tx is a good sign :D Are there any pics aorund of just the chassis without a body mounted?

Neomax

Thats a good start then, as the old controllers were such a poor design and let the Xmods down so much.
Does that car have good precise control, or is it a bit crap like the Xmods used to be?

Take a look here: http://www.minizeta.com/foro/showthread.php?t=9340

For now, you can put Mini-Z Monster rims, tyres and dampers. X-Mods Evo Touring differentials looks compatible.

Wow that thread is packed with information. I wish I could speak/read better spanish  Zen, and cooldragon are both members here. I wish they would share the same information on this site.

From what it looks like they arent anything liike Xmods. The electronics look different, and both of those guys think they are superior to Xmods. Zen even says mechanically he thinks they are better than Kyosho's overland and monster. Im very interested now.

Yeah me too, i would like something nice and small for general offroad and for a bit of not too serious crawling, and this looks like it might have both of those capabilities! it has 4WD and 4 wheel multi link independent suspension, that would be pretty much all a crawler needs! and with 4WD it already has the upper hand on the Overlander and the monster, with the exception of the iWaver monster, though that doesent have the 4 wheel muti link suspension, so it may seem a good idea to get one of these while they are cheap!
Thanks for the info guys!

I've seen one of this for few minutes last night and I was impressed. To me it looks like a better choice then a Micro T...which it's very nice, but with Carson you can't run more then few minutes and the Micro it's bit to fragile and small, in my opinion.
I had 2 xmods and the response of this machines it's far better than xmods. On carpet it makes wheeles instantly - with a stage2 motor.
Also I found the usage of the same batteries as Z's a big advantage over Micro T. As using parts from Kyosho MT, it's even better.
I'll buy one in the near future and keep you updated.

Drove this car today....the TX it's crap but I switched to a Micro T one and it's much more better. Here you have a picture near Micro T !

This one is mine:
I change the body for a "fake" 6$ Mini-Z Monster one, i put 4 alu GPM dampers, road tyres and finally i switched to an Iwaver ESC in order to use my Sanwa MX-A.
I have to say that it performs great with its own motor and without ball bearings. I spent almost two hours with just three intellect 750 packs.
The next things to change will be a more performant motor, ball bearings, 3 racing alu dampers and adjustable tie rods (if possible).
This is a small video: http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=uVLm6OJ8IXA

I just want to share with you the ball bearings measurements, if you want to upgrade it. You will need:

Eight (8) 3x6x2.5mm for the rear and front knuckles
Three (3) 3x6x2mm for the transmission axle
Four (4) 5x8x2 for the differentials

Bye!
