Make sure you dont lay concrete over a septic tank or sewer or electrical or other access to something burried ;) And being that close to the house make sure it dont drain into the foundation...

The mini-z obsession has not fully taken hold of you yet, if your leaving all that other grass alone... that could be more track :).

What do you mean leaving the other grass alone?

Looks like your straights are 6-8 feet long. If I were to build an outdoor oval, I would want at least 20-25 foot straights and give the cars some time at top speed.

Of course my wife would not like the toy car track taking over the entire backyard. :(

I mean some of us are obsessed, and would dig up the entire yard, not just make a small oval ;).

Oh trust me id dig up the whole yoad in a heart beat except im 13 and my mom had a big enough fit with this and the track dimensions are
backstretch 8 1/2 ft long
front stretch 11 ft long
turn stretch 9 ft long
lane width 3 ft wide

Here's some inspiration for 'ya. This is a track a guy here in Phoenix built in his back yard for 1:18 scale. It's called Claytona:

So someday when you have your own house you can build big.
