Just wanted to reiterate in case people forgot or didn't read the above post carefully, we are at 4130 now, not 4160. In addition, Endo and I will be there for several hours before, so anyone who wants to come earlier is welcome too - please txt me w/ your plan however, so that we know when to expect you (we'll be making runs to Lowes etc. so you may arrive only to find that you're locked out if you do not coordinate your pre-7pm arrival w/ me).

Since we've never held a race at this building before, we may be in for some surprises etc. - please bring whatever you can think of that may be helpful in our new digs - Carlos , can you bring the mega Night Race lights, I'm not sure what the lighting will be like for racing etc. I assume they're 120, but we even have 240 at the new place - Dan, bring the CNC! :D (j/k!) Note that we will have the giant ceiling-mounted heater like at the first 4160 races - should help bring our track temperature up to put us on a more level playing field w/ the Arizona guys! :D

Haha :D, yes, out here to warm up a room you need only switch on a light.

I wonder if it would help you to put a couple electric blankets under the track to keep it warmed up? It might interfere with the RF though, and probably make an uneven surface. If that turns out true maybe you could cover the track with them before the race. (Almost certainly more trouble than its worth).

VERY TIGHT RACING, that's why it's always a pleasure to race with you guys. Luke (aka Deez Lug Nutz :p) really enjoyed racing at the DOJO and plans on coming again soon. My car ran even better after Snacks made an adjustment. Too bad it was after my race  Like always a great time was had by all can't wait to race again next time.

Short, one of the races all three drivers finished on the same lap with only 0.27 seconds between first and second. Third place finished 2 seconds behind the second place.

In another heat, for most of the race (3/4 of the race), the three drivers were on the same lap or one of them one lap behind, then the 3rd driver will catch up again. It ended up with a bit more spread on that one with at least 2 or 3 laps between first/second and another 2 or 3 between second/third. It was still very good.

Overall it was a good layout, more space at the Dojo to run. Since the walls are further appart in this new building, there was much much less glitches/interference.

Actually we're considering building a raised floor to isolate the track from the cold concrete - perhaps even heating the air underneath! What is your guys typical track temp? In the new warm Dojo, we hit 67! :D

Thanks C! Now bring a couple dozen new racers to help cover the increased rent! :D

We've been very lucky to get the clubhouse at Joe's apartment complex. Very comfortable and no rental fee. It's probably around 70-75deg in there this time of year. In summer the A/C can only keep it to the low 80's. But that's still a pretty consistent temperature condition, so, lucky again.

The downside is the available space is only just big enough for OLPS tracks (have to leave walking access around the track as its a public area). For the big stuff we race in DJ's garage. The temperature is much more variable, but we have a large also rent-free space.

We used to pay $50 a day to rent large track space (and that's talking places down from $300+), so we've got a great situation going out here. We may be holding some races at the new indoor LHS track that just opened. We'll see.
