Sounds like an old add, but is this a new F1 body coming out?

That sems to be the new body...notice that the front wing design and the mirror placement match the previous years F1 and has a Schumacher helmet so I would say that was the 2006 season contender.

The one that lost by that much(fingers an inch apart) to that clown Alonso. :(

It's a Ferrari 248 which was the 2006 car. Yes it's a new release from Kyosho.

I just got one of these as my first mini-z f1.

So far out of the box, I've just found out the hard way, that I should take the body off before working on the car :o. The mirrors break off quite easily. But nothing a bit of zap-a-gap adhesive won't fix.

The gear diff was terrible and rough, so I had to take it apart and pump some silicone grease into it.

Some of the screws that hold down the rear suspension plates have been screwed in so tight from factory, that I've stripped the head of a few screws in my failed attempts to loosen them.

I've noticed that the chassis is tweaked as well which is the reason why I'm trying to undo the the screws for the rear suspension plate to try and shim it...

A lot of slop in the front knuckles. At first I thought it was because I was using atomic king pins, but when putting the stock king pins on, there is just a s much slop.

Has anyone else had the same experience with their f1 ? Anyone got any tips on how I can remove those tight screws. Should I dremel the head of the screw so that I can use a flat tip screw driver or is there a better way ?

Classic Mini-z problem, worse still when you buy second hand cars and find that people super glue the screws in because theyve stripped the thread! Sorry ive found the best safest and quickest way is to use a precision screw driver with a pair of pliers! grip the side of the screw driver with the pliers, and push down hard on the top to the driver! the art of it is to extend the twisting force (torque)

I use flat head drivers on my screws. Works like a charm.

I prefer to use a Wiha 0x50 or 00x40 screwdriver.

You've noticed what we've all gathered over years of racing the F1 - it sucks out of the box. There's a lot of little things that need to be done to get it in the ballpark. I'll try to outline it in an upcoming race prep build article.

I would love to see them do a BMW. That is one good looking car.

If last nights race is any test of things to come this is going to be a great season....I won't spoil it for those that do not have blood shot eyes.

What race? That was a poor example of an F1 race. I was disappointed not just cause Ferrari had a poor showing but in general. Pretty strange rules also were hard to keep up with.
Hey there miniz fuel. Do we know you here at www.hircr.com Racin every 2 weeks on the west side of town

Don't be sad just because Ferrari used the stolen Mclaren technology on their 2008 car... :D I thought it was a pretty good race.

Um you might want to reverse that. McLaren were the ones who stole Ferrari's technology!!!!!

It was a joke. Mclaren used Ferrari technology and their cars got faster and more reliable. Ferrari used Mclaren technology and their cars DNF... :p And don't fool yourself into thinking that the exchange of information was one way. Mclaren got caught holding the hot potato because they aren't Ferrari.

Nice one Joe. Maybe it was the Standard ECU provided by Mclaren that gave the ferrari the fits. it didn't like the Mclaren part inside of it's chassis and was trying it's best to purge it...:D
