Just visited these guys last week, and I'm going to swing by again after work. They've got a small track (20'x15') that they'd like to expand if they can get a good consistent crowd out there. They're primarily an electric off road shop/indoor dirt track, but they've got a pretty well stocked Kyosho inventory with readysets, radios, ARRs and great prices on autoscales.

I'm going to try to swing by most days after work to get some wheel time since it's close to my office. I'll still hit up Kenon on the days they're open late for racing (Tues/Fri@Kenon).

Wow, what a GREAT facility! The track is a little small, but the owner is dedicated to getting the right expansion packs to make it a fun track to race on. I'll be here most nights after work and Kenon on the late nights.

Bah. It's just words. The pics are the most important! :) Anyways, I didn't like the way the TRP lap counter bridge looked so I made one myself. It's modeled after the tire bridge at Laguna Seca. I made it a lot thinner so it won't obstruct your vision while driving. Took a week to design and make out of foamcore and matboard. I think it looks sweet and I'm pretty proud of it. Hope it serves the OC/RC Mini-Z scene well! First race Thursday October 9th!

Mini-Z official practice night is Thursday!

Racing is on Saturday starting at 3PM!
We will have at least 2 demo cars for new drivers to check out.

We will have 3 classes for racing:
Mod - any motor
Stock - PN 70T motor ($10) or box stock motor
F1 - PN 70T motor or box stock motor

The races will be run on a monthly "success weight" system. Modeled after the FIA GT and Japanese Super GT series, this system ensures close racing week after week. The A-main podium drivers will be assigned the following weight penalties (measured in pocket change) for the next week's race:
1st: quarter
2nd: nickel
3rd: dime

The "success weight" must be attached to the underside of the roof where it will have the most effect. The weight is CUMULATIVE for the month, so the more you win, the harder it is to KEEP winning! If you are super-macho, you could have up to $1 in quarters to lug around in the last race of the month! At the beginning of each month, the process starts over from scratch. Should be a great way to keep the racing close and exciting!

We will also be introducing a new ranking system to give new drivers steps to progress through and goals to aim for!

In addition to the Kyosho parts support at Gyro Hobbies, we now offer a full range of Reflex, PN Racing, Atomic, and 3Racing parts trackside
