Sounds good. Just gotta order 1 of those motors or 2 if my friend is gonna come as well.

i would order 2 at a time. there are always minute production differences in motors allowing for a slight variation in performance. on rare occasions you can get one that just speeds past others or is just dog slow. ordering more than one lets you prep both and choose the best one vs. being stuck with whatever.

What's the motor spec for season 7. I looked on the hfay site but it doesn't look like the information is up to date, or at least it seems that way.

I'm gonna try to make it to this event. It's been a really long time.

the current HFAY Spec Motor is the same as season 6...

The Ringer and I just ordered some more motors, so there should be plenty of spares if anyone needs to borrow one. ;)

Could I just buy one from one of you guys, given its not a horribly trashy one via the variable build specs.

if you don't mind a used one, i would be willing to give you one of my motors from season 6. it's been used in approximately 4 races.

guys, unless the garage has internet access, the track pc at hw will be needed. i forgot that the last time i took my laptop to hw, i was prompted for a driver update before core would be recognized. no internet means no update means no core on my laptop. i suspect this will be the case for anyone that has not had core plugged into thier pc for awhile.

i had not had the chance to borrow the loop between races in order to get the drivers installed while at home.

Arch, I sent you an email.

If nobody else can make it, I'll reroute my trip to stop by HW, it's more or less on the way for me. Anybody know what time it opens tomorrow?

Edit: %#&@, it's 10:30am...there goes my tweak time.

got ti and sent a couple files your way. i will bring my portable drive with all my core releases if anyone needs a copy for a computer. see you guys soon.

i also have a couple things to give out if anyone wants them... need to thin my box a bit.

thank soy for putting copies of the hfay track on the pc;) we really should do that for the entire season, anyone have a link to the s7 tracks?

since i do not have core with me, i will not be able to get the voice call outs ready by this weekends race. i will take core with me after this race so that i can update the software. or figure out how to transfer it all over to the track pc.

please bring your hfay transponders!! everyone should have a nice sticker on thier transponder making it difficult to loose or misplace. i will be deleting all transponder data from core and rescanning all the hfay only transponders this weekend. this will allow anyone to start a hfay race with core by simply pulling drivers from the db instead of scanning them in. i'll need to do this to get the voice call outs setup as well.
i had intended for everyone to use one trasnponder for both hfay classes. if there is a reason why this can not be done, please make sure you have a 2nd transponder identified and i will scan it in accordingly.

it will be important to keep track of these transponders. this will avoid many core mistakes that happen when core tags are scanned in or selected incorrectly. if one is lost, please let me know and i'll do my best to replace it. i have plenty of extra hfay tranponder stickers if anyone needs one.

please make sure you have your racer and f1 in ready condition. tunning is understood but it will save all of time by coming prepared. i already glued my f1 body together yesterday with jb weld so lets hope that holds up well.

The entire season's worth are on the track PC, and I have a copy on the thumb drive I keep in my pit box. If that doesn't avoid the issue we previously had, I don't know what will.

Unfortunately I didn't bring the core loop with me, or I could have done the work myself. Let me know if you would like me to do anything with the track PC this week sans loop. I couldn't run core on the alternate PCs I set up even with the nosensor port switch enabled...though I didn't work too hard at it (i.e. try via command line) since it was some time Sunday morning before I was done with them.

I just have the normal core transponder. Gary a friend of mine is planning on coming also. He has the same type of transponder.

No worries, arch is just laying out a process to make things quicker for those of us who have multiple transponders (we will have one racer entry in core that can be added to each race without scanning). There is nothing different about them, they are just to be labeled so things go smoothly. I haven't even labeled my HFAY transponder yet, since my usual doesn't seem to be taking a write properly since I lent it out.

Just wanna say that I should be good to go with either a new 90RM setup or my now "old" 94MM and fresh PN Hfay motors. Gonna try to test all my setups friday night @ home to avoid lagging up saturday preparations.

Is Spoon the only FET guy in our club? I lent my AWD to a friend and it looks like I have a burnt reverse FET.

Speaking of Spoon, haven't seen him on the forums in a while, has he been racing with you guys?

i got an email from spoon recently, he's very occupied on the weekends with paintball competitions. he expressed renewed interest in racing with us again provided it fits in with his busy weekends and that gas not hit $4/gallon again.

i can't blame him for that as i would have to reduce trips if that happens again. it was nice to hear from him and i hope he catches us at some point. it's always nice to shake up the ranks.:p

Soulstice, The Ringer has gotten pretty good at doing FET swaps lately, I don't know if he's done any AWD's yet though.. As far as Spoon goes, I really hope he comes back and joins us for the new HFAY season..

for those new to HFAY racing with us, please see the HFAY websit (http://hfay.tinyrc.com/PointSeries/Season7/tabid/152/Default.aspx)e for more information and details

Thank you everyone for having HFAY legal motors ready to go.

Thank you everyone for bearing with me while i setup the core transponders for season 7. this will make event setup very simple for those who will have to fill in for me at races i will not be able to attend (race 2). the only one wiht two transponders (tallgeese):p, you will have to make sure you select the proper one AND make sure tallgeese uses the proper one.

if others show up whom are new to HFAY, please scan in the tag, rename the transponder as follows: [First name][First letter of last name]_HFAY and resave

Race 1 results submitted as of 10pm.

i updated the 2009 schedule to include HFAY dates for the entire year! this will include all of season 7 and season 8. please bear in mind that after the next couple months, we selected the 3rd saturday of every month. pokemon only does planning 3 months in advance so by claiming dates for the rest of the year, we end up with some lee way if rescheduling is needed for any reason.

this also allows us to pre-plan club race dates to a better degree as well.

thank tallgeese for taking the time to get all these into the hobby works calendar.

Just wanted to say thanks again guys for letting me drop by for the race! I was blown away by the amount of drivers there and the skill levels involved. Usually, when I'm bouncing along the major east coast highways in my rusted out tin box, I always question whether the trip is worth it, but always find myself thinking on the way home that it was. One heck of a crew has developed down in DC!

Great meeting you all once again and I will definitely be down for the next one! (or you guys will have my hide for sure!) I'm starting to get better at navigating the beltways too so maybe I won't have to swing wildly across four lanes of traffic to find my exits anymore. (it is nice how everyone down there honks so appreciatively when you make killer moves like that!)

Cyall soon!

This was definitely fun with the big turnout. Thanks to everyone who helped set up and break down. Look forward to the next one. Hopefully I'll finally break 80 laps if I can get used to reversing on the 2.4s.

I was the big weirdo sitting right next to you. :D

I had the Davey G. custom painted Murch. Looked like you were busy with your cars (trying to get away from the traction roll), so I wasn't going to bug you. Great driving for just starting out, you might want to invest in an MR02 eventually though.

See you all again soon!

Hey Ed,

Are you still coming down for the HFAY race next weekend? I think we all enjoy the extra competition.:)

Yep... I'm bringing my Core along too. I wasn't sure if Arch's was going to be there or not. See you the 28th!

Hmm, I could get Arch's core to use for the race, but if you don't mind bringing yours it might be easier that way.

Roll was cured right after that race thanks to Vaz's lead tape, but I will reduce some weight before R2 and if no one objects to it, try a ultra-light weight MR15.

OR you guys can tell me a minimum weight and I'll adjust the car accordingly.
