i didnt see race gt-r (09 skyline) say the stock bodies. dude are the 94 or 98 mm. they say they are for the ma-010 so they got to be 94mm right?

I am pretty sure it is 98mm. See here for pictures.

The race body is MM, and my guess then is 98mm.

yeah? the new gt-r? i was wondering because ive heard a few people say 98mm but the previous skyline is 94mm and if it was 98mm it means kyosho has an extender or new piece because they dont have 98mm AWD bodies as far as i know. at 98mm that gear stars looking a little too long for my liking...i may just pick one of these up then

can he tell us if the chrome plating is all over or just the roof? it may make the difference in being core compatible or not.

Damn...Damn, Damn... We need more 98mm bodies, all three with chomed roof:mad: I was planning on getting a few of those bodies. Well, we will see, I will not pay 40 to 50 $ for a body I can't use.

Luckily the lap-Z does work with all types of bodies:)

I am looking forward to try these out. Hopefully they have the same characteristics as the 350Z 2007.

...
you have to wire it to the pcb, you have to worry about damaging it... there are trade off's and draw backs to each system.

Actually we just use screwtabs on the wires as you can see in this picture.http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/4958/07102008200largetm6.jpg
Of course there are pos and cons about every system. The main reason for using this system is for us the availability. This is the only system that is available here in northern europe.

understood but if you want to point out the positive of a specific system based on this topic, it's only fair to acknowledge there are drawbacks as well, just as there are for core, specifically regarding the use of chrome finish on autoscales.

Of course. I did not mean anything about it really. I was just happy that chrome finish works on this system. I know that the Core software is much better than the Lap-Z one, but since it is not to my knowledge available here the system most frequent in use are the LZ:)
I was not trying to badmouth Core or anything else.

based on this pic, I think we may be in luck, it doesn't look like the under side is all chrome plated, like they are in the G'zox 350Z, and the G'zox NSX.

http://www.mini-zracer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26710&d=1234624008

you can clearly see that the entire underside isn't chome plated. I looked at both my 350z and NSX and they have the chome plating on the inside of the body.

As stated before, the tops of these are chrome. Could mean the white bodies will be even more desirable if it doesn't work with the core.

got one today! so just to clear up a few rumors the car is 98mm +2 offset front and rear and the chrome is on top and bottom of the body, the roof and rear window is one pc and it is chrome plated so i will know tomorrow if it interferes with the core system. if so , i wonder if just painted the bottom side with some flat black paint will do the trick?? also the finish sucks compared to the old glosscoat bodies and is not consistent, the sides are dull compared to the top. the GTR is 44g compared to the 350z 40g and NSX 38g (ASC weights). it looks like its gonna drive real similar to the 350z

CristianTabush
2009.02.18, 02:46 PM
I disagree with Mantis that it will work like the 350Z. This body, dimensionally is closer to an NSX than anything else. Very, very close. A little heavy but this is due to the chrome plating. I am working on taking it off already :P

MantisMMA
2009.02.18, 03:54 PM
the hood and the decklid are both higher than the NSX but the exact same height as the 350 and the front end is identical to the 350! visually to me it looks low and flat like the NSX but when you set them side by side the silhouette favors the 350. at any rate it will have its own characterstics and hopefully we will get an abundance of whitebodies!!. so cristian do you think the chrome will have to be removed or will flat paint do the trick?

Jace1283
2009.02.18, 04:31 PM
wow thats expensive, id rather have the le mans mclaren at that price, anyways, looks like whitebodies for me from now on. this body should be pretty good! +2 all around and 98mm, sounds like a winner to me.

briankstan
2009.02.18, 04:35 PM
just covering the the chome plating won't do it, it shields the transponder (blocks the signal) from the reading unit.

Mounted on 2 AWD's compared side to side, NSX v. GTR, same roof height and hood height. Wing is almost at the same point and the rear extends beyond the rear axle about the same distance. I compared this mounted on 2 identical AWD chassis, not on a counter, which is what counts mind you that I was able to lower the GTR quite a bit v. stock. It seems to be in between the both. It has more of a forward weight bias than the 350Z, but the cab is not quite as far forward. Either way, unless we can drop 8g of weight, it is really not going to be as competitive as either of the other 2 :o

The chrome paint will probably need to be removed entirely is my guess. I don't think it will work otherwise. Of course if you are using Giro-Z, this should not be a problem. :)

MantisMMA
2009.02.20, 01:45 PM
well as expected it drives like the 350z almost exactly to me. not very good at 96mm stock or AWD 98mm it has too much overhang and the back comes around on turn in with no adjustments. i dont really like it which sux because it is good looking! tomorrow i am gonna try 98mm 2w mod and see what happens. it does seem like the chrome makes the top of the car heavy and the white bodies may be a different story but the ASC's weight balance is off for sure

briankstan

good news !! I have done a test with the GTR body and it does work with core just fine. It read every lap. Sweet. !!

the chrome plating is only on the very top of the roof and back window, I had my transponder mounted under the hood just like I normally do and it read the first time.

Don't really car much on "what's the new release body" but I was able to test this body... Right when I was opening my kyosho package for the store I noticed this GT-R body and right away I know it'll work for racing! This car works GREAT on my 98mm 2wd stock! Super, super stable. This car just wont wash out. I was almost on power the entire time it was on the track. Just amazingly stable! It works perfect with PN's Lay down motor, 98mm-102mm.

This car was brand new yesterday. Hacked it last night and took it to the race with me to try it out on the quals... very stable body. If you like 98mm, this is it.

Yeah, I got one, I haven't tried in on the 2wd (I am partial to the Mclaren F1 LM) but I tried it on my AWD and its a great!!! reminds me of the NSX 2007 reamed out to 98mm wheel base. The front hood has so much room you don't have to drill holes for suspension travel :D.

Well, after testing the new GTR on my AWD I now prefer the NSX 07/05. the NSX seemed more stable and had a little less steering (but enough very even handling car) which made the car more forgiving. However, I tried the new GTR on my 2wd and the car was amazing very stable but also nibble and responsive, I did not expect that but I need to do some more testing for a better assessment. I also ran 0 off sets front and back. Basically took the chassis right of my Mclaren F1.

i have been running constantly for 3 hrs a night and find the body super stable on both 2wd and 4wd. the overhangs are not as bad as the 350z super gt and the nsx. the car seems to rotate faster and have less rear bite than the nsx which i used before. the body is the best of both, 350z super gt and the nsx.
