Sounds good to me, I have an STI body that woulb work. Since I sold all my RM parts I'll just use my AWD.

What kind of rules are you planning to put in place for this one?

A 86-90mm chassis race would be nice. I've got some RX-7's and a Viper body that I'd like to run..

I'm up for it, though I think I'm stuck with the 934 unless I want to buy something for the race. Anyone got a spare F40 I can destroy?

I was thinking the same rules as past races with an exception of maybe a motor limit but not sure. What does everyone think of a 50 turn motor limit?

TALLGEESE

A motor limit would be a good idea considering we're running shorter wheelbases.. Me and Matt were talking about possibly running the PN 70 turn motors in our cars for this event, but the 50 turn motor limit seems good as well.. Are there any body limits for this race otherwise than being 86-90mm?

I personally feel that the wheelbase limit, limits the amount of speed that the car can corner with. The amount of motor will be pointless. The best setups will use the slower motors regardless. Plus, how many motors are above 50t. The only ones that I can think of are the X-Speed, Stock Kyosho and the PN 70t.

I am working on a 90mm F40 RM, and the PN 70t seems to be a sweet spot as far as power vs speed... I think if I go faster, I will need to work on the setup a lot more.

I wish I could join you guys for these races. You allways seem to have great race ideas... Its just a little too far out of reach to get to the race.

When I set up these races I try 2 keep everyone happy. As far as I know atomic standard, stock, PN speedy 05, and 07 are also 50 and above motors. I'm pretty sure that their are more motors that are 50 and above but thats all that I can think of at the moment. Atomic stock R and speedy AWD are not.

Oh yea, totally forgot that you won't be there Ray - -" , and sure, I can pick that body up and meet up sometime late sat or during the week.

Edit: this 72 sky IS MR-15. The body hugs the chassis like s2k does with MR02. So its 15 or AWD only for sure.

I'm open for any date. how about we hold the race at your work so we can run a big track.

I'll see what I can do. We are pulling the head off a truck right now and I don't know when it will be done but of coarse its in the same place as the last time we set up at my work so as long as the rest of the shop is empty it should be good.

what time do we show up tomorrow?

what is the address again?

VAzRACER
2009.03.27, 08:53 PM
I am planning on getting there around noon. I dont know the address, I will pm you with Ringers phone number so you can call him and ask. Soy said he was going to put core on Ringers laptop and give him the loop, I dont know what they ended up doing but that is what we talked about. If you have a lap top with core could you bring that too? just in case. Thanks.

I called The Ringer earlier today and already got the address of his work, here's the address if anybody else needs it other than Arch.. The address is 224 Industrial Court, Fredericksburg Va, 22408... Hope to see everyone there, me and Matt should be there around 11-12 tomorrow...

i'll bring my laptop just in case. it's been awhile since i plugged core in so lets hope it doesn't prompt me for a driver update if needed.

soyverde
2009.03.27, 10:44 PM
The ringer has core and flipside installed on his laptop. Both have been tested, including a reboot to avoid the driver issue. Have fun, guys. ;)

arch2b
2009.03.28, 06:19 PM
i downloaded the latest version of flipside and ran it on my laptop today. other than not haveing speakers to hear the voices, it ran perfectlly. we all used generic transponders too!

i think we all had a very good time today with the short wheelbase race (86-90mm). i haven't been able to find any s2000 white bodies or cheap autsocales so i may try to find/dig out my ferrari 250 gto.

fyi, i always check this site when looking for bodies by wheelbase, http://www.mini-z-guide.com/bodies.htm

i highly suggest we continue with the short wheelbase racing as it's very fun and i've found myself using bodies i've never even considered before. i can't tell you how many times i've given away s2000 and z8's without even giving them a thought.

i couldn't find an unpainted s2000 so i bought a porsche 934 and ferrari 250 gto. i look forward to getting these and more importantly, using them.

arch2b
2009.04.05, 11:43 AM
i was planning on a plain white 250 but i'm painting gi joe stuff all day to i tossed in the 250 gto for some custom red pin stripes. it should be dry enough in an hour or so. i used krylon fusion paint which deosn't chip nearly as easy as others due to the way it bonds with the plastic. same as the brown that has held up very well on the md police db9. i hope to get away without needing a clear coat.

i had a can of rustoleum gloss coat and thought, hmmm.... it's now nice and shiney however it cracked the blue paint to hell. it looks like your elbow in the middle of december. oddly enough the flourescent orange looks fine. didn't bother it at all.
