Yes, we cancel F1 because all regioanl race and finals race less than 10 drivers.

Pan Super Stock same to use 70T, just difference of the ASC stock, you can use after market chassis, same rules with Pan Mod, just the motor difference.

Thanks for the explanation Philip. Pan Super Stock should be a lot of fun. We are currently running a similar class at the local track (any Pan body - PN 70t motor).

Haha, and to think, it was my idea to run that class... and had to talk the owner into running it. Everyone loves the class, and it pulls faster lap times than the pro-stock class with Speedy07 and ATM Stock. It is really a fun class, and very close racing.

PNracing
2009.03.01, 10:11 AM
The first coming regional should be RCX show, still waiting final confirm details.

East cost will be two regional, NY, NJ or PA
Central will be TX and FL
West cost RCX, Bay Area and SoCal.

This year will be one more Semi-Finals of USA before Spain Finals.

Any track owner want to host the regional race, and you can set up the same size of the track, please contact us pnwc@pnracing.com

I'm kinda bummed about the F1 being dropped from the PNWC, I was sure looking forward to running that class at RCX. I guess I'll have to put together a Super Stock Pan Car now.

I like the changes made to the rules... the addition of F1, bump up... I think that will be better for the series.

I am going to try to look into attending the RCX race...

Noticed that 86mm bodies are now illegal. No body runs those bodies, but in case somebody found a way to make them competitive, they ought to be legal.

EMU
2009.03.12, 04:14 PM
86mm wheelbase is illegal. I assume that we can use 86mm bodies with a longer wheelbase if we wanted ;)

i believe the rules state that you can use any motor as long as it is in a pn can...

Yes, any PN selling motors, Speedy or Anima or S03. If you only use PN can with other armature, in the tech section may be open to check.

speedy 07 for AWS stock and or F1?????

at the regional the AWS cars were about 1 second slower than 2ws, the speedy should even it up a bit and may even allow them to run together!! just a thought

I second that. Speedy 07 would be a great stock motor for the AWD and F1. We run the speedy 07 with our AWD's at Maj's (MHS) and its a great class.

PNracing

I will arrange make one new AWD Stock for PNWC AWD stock class, any one want to test and give me comment, please email me, I have 10 for drivers, and all comment must be post on here, the sample will be arrive 10 days.

PNracing
2009.08.18, 12:35 PM
may be easier, just use Speedy07 for AWD Stock class and F1 Stock class, because all drivers already have experience or this motor hand on to practice.

JuniorWKR
2009.08.18, 12:36 PM
we are running last years layout right now... and we run 57 laps in both 2wd 70t and awd speedy 07... the speedy 07 in awd makes for the most exciting class we are running right now... i would love to see a pn 55t motor to run as a awd and a 2wd spec class... as fun as 70t is it does get a little slow after a while... 1 mistake and you cant catch up... a 55t motor should be equivalant to a non ball bearing speedy 07... should make for some exciting racing...

and please make sure that the brushes are the style that are being used on the new 70t and not like the speedy 07.... the brushes on the speedy 07 have a tendacy to warp and cause the motor to die...

Let's just keep the speedy07 for stock awd Philip. This way, maybe I'll run this class too. ;)

JuniorWKR
2009.08.18, 12:49 PM
speddy 07 motors are to inconsistent due to the brushes warping... the new 70 can and brushes is the most efficient and consistent way to go... make a new motor usinig that can and brushes... a 55t ball bearing motor would be my choice...

MantisMMA
2009.08.18, 01:09 PM
i didnt think the speedy's were anymore inconsistent than the 70t!!! Phillip just make the new speedy 09 using the same armature but with the new can, if there is a brush issue. what would be great is having AWD and 2WD run together!! that would be awesome and very realistic. we could just do a trial run at an upcoming race and see what happens, there is nothing to lose since it will be a spec class. between CT , Jacob and i we can give you some accurate times and evaluation.

yasuji
2009.08.18, 01:36 PM
imo it would be great to see awd and 2wd stk on the same pace and combine the 2 classes as well as awd and 2wd mod.....
less classes! more entrys!=bigger classes....
;)

MantisMMA
2009.08.18, 03:07 PM
Grant i agree 150%!! on a loose track the AWD would reign supreme and vice versa on a grippy track but you would be able to choose whats works best for you. i wonder how a awd car works with pan??? have you tried that yet?

Tjay
2009.08.18, 03:12 PM
not going to happen...

club race is ok. Title shots... nope.

MantisMMA
2009.08.18, 03:33 PM
Why not? its done that way in real racing (audi, subaru, nissan). it would simplify so many things. mod champion .stock champion, pan champion! it may never happen and probably will not but i dont see a problem with it.

MantisMMA
2009.08.18, 03:41 PM
it would also be nice to have 1/28 scale "pros"!! i was a pro bmx'r back in the day and it was an honor. since we are just talking hypethitically (sp). i think ultimately having a pro mod touring and pro mod pan class , allowing the pros to choose what platform they want. but let the amateur class seperate would be neat too! if you are a pro level driver you shouldnt be allowed to run stock. so you would have:

2-4WS AMA
F1 AMA
PCS AMA
TOURING PRO MOD
PAN PRO MOD

The pro class qualifiers would be like a main event every round!! very exciting and not much lap traffic drama....just my .02

can someone explain why the LM wheels and tires are not allowed on the LM cars? the rear wheels are the exact same size as the normal wheels? the tires are a little taller but if you dont run the tires and use a LM mount the chassis drags the ground.

mleemor60
2009.11.03, 01:45 PM
My guess would be that PN doesn't make a tire for the LM. Or a Dif. Or a pod. Knuckles.

Traveler
2009.11.03, 01:58 PM
Maybe that's why PN won't make LM front rims. The stock Kyosho LM front rims tend to crack right away around the inside bearing and I have asked Philip several times to make some LM sized front Delrin rims. I use the PN Delrin rims in the rear of my LM cars. I believe we have to run LM tires on our LM cars at HSH, so having a stronger aftermarket front LM rim would be great!

Mantis, couldn't you whip some up? You may not even need to remove material from the inside. If they were solid throughout they might hold up even better and given the small size, the weight shouldn't be a big issue.

I'd love to have an alternative to the stock K front LM rims!

i hope thats not why!!! he allows any other motor mount and any tires for the other classes

i have not had any cracking issues as of yet but i could easily make a few sets im on it!

The K20 and K30 tires for the car work exceptionally well and wear absolutely forever. If he made some as good he wouldn't be able to sell many. If he made some that weren't as good he wouldn't sell any. I wish he would jump in with some options. The 102 cars as modifieds are a hoot and a half to drive and very capable of running with the Pan bodies when in the right hands.

Awesome news! Not sure what kind of time it takes to "whip some up" but I have an order pending with CT for a WTF2 and some other stuff. Would be awesome to get a pair in with that.

I'd suggest inspecting the hubs on your front LM rims closely. Mine usually develop hairline cracks almost instantly running perpendicular to the bearing (or parallel to the front axle). Its happened on every set I have. It doesn't prevent me from continuing to use the rims, but it bothers me and I feel it adds some slop to the front.

Mike,

Maybe you should move this LM rim discussion to a new more appropriate thread.

very true, they handle great in mod. i managed to finish on the same lap with jacob before the worlds and his pan car was only 2 tenths quicker best lap to best lap.

This is for PN Racing.. can we handwind armatures made by PN racing using different wire types? In the rules they claim the armature must be PN Racing, but not the wire assuming the armature is blank.. thanks :)

Ditto on blt456's question - Is aftermarket or other-brand enamel/motor wire legal for Mod/Open class motors? I understand PN has everything else for sale to build you own motor: armature+comm (these PN arms are dang nice too), magnets, motor cans, brushes, and 104 caps.

What about motor can bearings? Is it legal to use the PN motor can, but swap-out the bearings with ceramic bearings?

Thanks!!!
