from
http://www.technicalrp.com/en/news/trp-news/presentacion-nueva-carroceria-miniz.html

On November 4th the new car body that TRP will be manufacturing was presented officially to all of the drivers attending the PNRWC race. This car body is based on the Renault Megane Trophy model which is used in numerous speed challenges all over Europe.

A recent deal established with this prestigious brand of vehicles will grant TRP an official license to duplicate the prototype car body shown here in the photo.

It is presented as a 94mm in which both RM as well as MM configurations can be mounted; even though at TRP we recommend the use of a chassis in 94mm position. It will come also with a rear W+2 and S+1 offset in the front section; all of which will be made of ABS-type plastic.

For the moment they will be distributed in 2 official designs.

Does anyone know anything about the wheels in the pic? Do they come with the body by any chance?

Very nice!!! How much will it go for? and what other bodies will they be making? Hope they dont forget the 98mm WB.

It's great to have more companies making these 1/28th scale bodies a little competition is always good for when ASC bodies are going for $40+

What will be the rules to race with this body Grant? Would we be able to mount a different wing? Also would we be able to use dish wheels?

Are those wheels 21mm? They look larger.

Judging by TRP's attention to the MR-02, I believe they're for the MR-02.

I ordered one of these bodies earlier today from atomic mods. I was waiting forever for kenon to get them in stock but I just couldn't wait any longer. I'll post pics next week when I get it all mounted up, I'm trying to think up a better wing for the rear a little lower and more rear located.

This body are in shops now, i just maked a review about this body with the "best" bodies from kyosho...

This is what we get when we buy the body, a blister pack with all its components:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/71/dsc09868z.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6783/dsc09869g.jpg

No difference at all to know that Kyosho normally, except for the labels

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/9039/dsc09870a.jpg

When we opened the box, this is what we are, 6 bags with their contents:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1157/dsc09871h.jpg

1 .- The Rombo, glass front and rear pockets and retovisores in black

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/3470/dsc09872l.jpg

2 .- Spoiler, rear diffuser, L's and clip attachment

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2504/dsc09873y.jpg

3 .- 4 screws to tie the spoiler and diffuser

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1552/dsc09874b.jpg

4 .- 4 rims with the offset line with the body, in this case, note that Kyosho has not ever included in their bodywork paint.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5900/dsc09875j.jpg

5.- Cristal

6.- Body

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8139/dsc09877k.jpg

Unlike Kyosho, this kit brings no glue to glue the L's, but now in Kyosho vehicles sold in that bag, nor has

The instructions are the Megane is English and Spanish, for its part, Kyosho in Japanese and English.

Taking the body in hand, I appreciate that plastics are feeling good, I see no burr and deformation,
has a good level of detail, in fact lack the lip of the windows that are usually colored black and has no lines marked.

When the pieces fit, the crystals fit perfectly, but it is the typical click to fit well ...

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7896/dsc09879g.jpg

There are several aspects that I like this body, starting with the lip inferor in the front bumper, not being very pronounced,
avoid becoming "enganchao" on the boundaries and because I believe it is fair, it also avoid leapfrog
them, if we remember what was the CLK 360 and GTC as well, although the latter had to be cut a little too long.

Another plus is that finally someone has noticed that the body blows are broken by the front pockets,
in the Megane we can see that the front is made without the huge holes in the pockets, as the indestructible old CLK
much love, both for their good behavior by their hardness

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2286/dsc09878z.jpg

a view of the rear of the body, which also sees solid, we should expect to receive a few blows to the
rear of the car to see what that holds and supports the diffuser.
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4668/dsc09880l.jpg

some pictures of the inside of the body:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1672/dsc09881b.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/193/dsc09882h.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6058/dsc09883l.jpg

Comparing the Megane with the old ( First ) CLK and the 360 GTC appreciate
which is the highest of the three, then we should add the aileron:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5091/dsc09889w.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6712/dsc09895x.jpg

Respect to the wheel, are practically nailed to the CLK 360 and GTC, although they may vary a few millimeters, also observe the
differences in logitud car comparadolos including:

here by comparing with the CLK

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7732/dsc09898s.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1476/dsc09900.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/644/dsc09902i.jpg

On the issue of the width from the rear, the CLK is a little more closely just below the all, being a bit wider at the top of the wheel

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1170/dsc09904d.jpg

and at the front, it almost passes as above

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2558/dsc09905.jpg

Now the body compared with the Megane 360 GTC

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5583/dsc09906.jpg

and the last....

Approximate height difference between the Megane with the 360 GTC

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2370/dsc09912.jpg

In short, a body created by people associated with World of MiniZ, and it shows, taking the best aspects of
bodywork is built to this scale, the acceptable price
also include 4 wheels, good quality materials and finishes.

The body handles very well. There is very little room around the front wheels. I used 0mm offset wheels, which helped. Tallest Kyosho limiters are required... I mounted the side clips a little lower on the body to raise the rear, so theres no rub there. I put the body on my MR02 that was setup for a 430GT, and I made no changes... the car is actually a little faster. From my experience, the higher CG bodies benefit the MR02, where lower CG bodies work better on the MR015 with MR02 conversion tower.

I drove my Megane last sunday at my local track and ran the fastest laptime for the evening. It handles very well but with some minor problems with traction roll. With the setup on the chassie i have now itīs fast and really sick going left-right, but itīs a pain to drive a car that nervous.
My Honda NSX was faster in racedistance but slower over one lap. I will continue to test new setups to really give the Megane a fair chans cause itīs so cool on the track.
BTW our track surface is regupol rubber and foams on the car so itīs very very high bite compared to RCP.

1 deg toe out
GRP hard foamtires 22mm with 1mm offset

Rear
T-bar, PN hard ssg, high clamp force t-bar mount
Motor mount, PN 94-98mm v2
Ball diff, PN keramic 5 balls installed, position +1
Disk damper, PN multi length, teflon treated, green spring up and down
Top shock, Kyosho F1
Inzane racing super rear foamtires 23.2mm with 2mm offset

PNWC 70 turn motor
Gearing 12-53

Body without roof wing

Setup before

Front
Camber 2, gain 1.01
white spring
0deg toe

Rear
diff position +2
disk damper 2000wt
gearing 11-52
10balls installed in diff

I lowered the rideheigt a little in front with the new setup cause when changing diff position then chassie was level and I always run my cars with a little more rideheight in the rear.

Thatīs about it, the rest was left untouched.

If you need put S+0 in front is not a bad option, here in Spain we are runing in Foam and the PN Driver Uri Valdé is runing with s+0 in front, but the rest we are runing with S+1 without problems. If you have some problems with S+1 maybe if becouse the front is too low?.

For your reference Uri have his best time with this body.

I like the green decoration, can i upload to trpscale website?

94MM, +1 front and rear.;)
I would only use 0mm N front wheels due to clearance issues.
Thanks fellas. :)

It looks fine for AWD chassis clearance. Can anyone confirm this?

People run the body with the AWD chassis as one of the local tracks.

Im having trouble with clearance in the front with this body. Im running an 015 with the EMU, -1 offsets, with AW groove 30 tires. When the rim is turned i can only clear the body if the tires are really worn. When they are new it has no clearance. Any help??

You may just need to raise the front of the body. Use the new PN front clip, you can raise and lower the body a few millimeters. I'm running atomic +1 dish wheels with Kyosho 30 tires on an 02 with PN a-arm, I trimmed a little material inside the body at the corner of the headlights and it clears now even with new tires. I used the PN clip with three shims to lift the body some, the front of the body is 2.5mm off the ground. Hope this helps.:)

I'm not sure how your doing it, or what I'm doing wrong, because I put all the shims under my PN body clip and it's now perfectly level with the chassis(if you look at it where the batteries lay, and the bottom/side of the body). I've got the a-arm, and the tire still hits. What limiter do you use?

The shortest Kyosho limiters. I dont use alot of steering which could be making the difference, its around 50% travel. it comes very close to touching but I havent had any issues from it yet. I also ended up putting all the spacers under the clip. I noticed when changing springs that some are a little shorter than others. Also check how low your front end is, mine is set so the arms are level with the bottom of the chassis. I think thats stock chassis height.

Thanks, I have the shortest limiters also and the white springs, but the arm is not level with the chassis and my steering is all the way up, maybe that's my problem.

Hi all..
Just wanted to show off my -now done- Megane :D Well.. done.. I wanted more stickers on it.. but the ones I made were too tiny for me to cut out properly :(

Maybe when I can get my hands on some transparent sticker 'paper' I'll try to put some more on it :)

Anyway, here are some pics :D

I'm not experiencing any steering issues.. but i've read others had to do some sanding on the inside.

also what have you done to to resolve the clearance issues if any...

thanks in advance... :D

in the brief time i used the body, i was simply frustrated to have clearance issues right out of the box so unfortunately, after the day i used it, it was placed in my autoscale bin. there are plenty of other bodies i'm far more interested in using than going back to trouble shoot this one.

the yellow painted version looks really nice though.

I ran one for testing for a week or so. I ended up letting my dad run it, so didn't develop the set up very far. I ran it with 19mm +1 front wheels and had no clearance issues, and didnt mod the body at all.

My dad's is one of the coolest little bodies Ive seen. I want one now, but cant get one easily :(

No lowered for front.
front inner need to grind until tire not hit the body.

I used the Megane a while ago for a points series we raced... I had slight clearance issues with the front wheels, so I used 0mm front wheels with worn thin tires (30d Kyosho radial). The car handled very well, i used it on a chassis that was setup for an F430 and really didnt make any changes.

Recently I entered a Hatchback class that started as a Megane, but is now a 94mm Hatch... I wanted to use the Megane but started racing the Subaru Hatchback at 94mm due to lack of availability of white Megane's. The general handling characteristic is very similar, although I feel that the Megane is faster if you use power, Subaru should be a little faster with 70t stock motors. Both you cannot rub the boards... so it is a real drivers class. For the Subaru, I used a narrow front end MR03 that was setup for the F355 with RR tri-damper system in the rear. I made no changes to the car, including the PN Corvette C5 front clip that fits both bodies. There was no motor limit, I had a 70t in the car, and kept it in since I didnt want to change the car. I managed to get the win, by running an absolutely flawless race. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5Ku6I3W86M My Subaru is white... but is now broken as the area that holds the front body clip in the body completely broke out in testing...

If you have a solid setup under a different 94mm car, I dont think you would need to change much if anything to get the car to work well.

thanks for all your replies... appreciate it :D
i just got mine the d.enjalbert 2008 version... :cool::D

since it wasn't actually a rtr body... and because of the packaging...
the roof got squashed and the door posts, windshield post broke and snapped off...:rolleyes:

put it together and tried it on a chassis, and even without running it, i found that there were clearance issues...:confused::eek:

- front rims catch under the body while turning
- kinda tight fit for a stock kyosho rm motor mount (wires / capacitors
hitting rear diffuser while putting it on the body)

so i used mr dremel to grind out the underside of the front fenders...
using less offset rims seems to help, it will also keep the whole wheel protected too... ;)

kinda like the idea of using 19mm front rims too...

i don't have a mm 94 motor mount, but tried a hm motor mount instead, and looks like it doesn't have too much issues...

haven't actually gotten around to running it yet... but will do soon...

kinda pity cause it looks like a really nice racing body...

what kind of motor mounts do you all use?

hope to post pics soon... :D

I use a PN 94LCG4 in my hatch right now (replaced the Subaru with a VW R32 for now until I get a new Subaru or Megane). My prior Megane setup used an ATM 94mm vIII (cant believe that I still remember the mount that I used then).

I just got the yellow Megane, I was unheartened to see the that the box had two left headlights covers and not a set. I can live with that but after gluing the clips, I find the body sliding on the car. The bodies slides 2-3mm back and forth. The clips are glued in the right spot unless I got a bad nose clip.
Anyone have any problems like this?

I am adjusting the clips using medical tape to take up some slack. Should I worry about centering the wheels in the wheel well or push the body all the way back.
