Price- Depends on particular transmitter and its condition
As the title says, I think the next step for me is a new transmitter. So I'm looking around for one. Let me know if you have anything. I'm only interested in programmable units. I don't know much about transmitters to be honest so if I ask a lot of questions bear with me. - Thanks, Brandon

AM or ASF?

AM or ASF?
I was under the impression that most nicer transmiters could do either with the correct module. I'd like one that could do either, however, right now I'm running an AM car. Though, I wouldn't be against purchasing a 2.4 tranmitter and converting.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I have an Airtronics MX-A if you're interested.

Could you provide any additional information? I don't know what that is. I'll try to look it up.

I tried grabbing the link off Kenon, but it didn't work too well. It only works with AM cars, along with other 27MHz RC's. It's very straight forward and easy to use, making it perfect for you. It also has a 12 model memory. PM me if you're interested.

Is it programmable? What benefit does it have over the stock transmitter?

Yes, it has the model memory so you can save up to 10 different car settings. In my opinion, it feels a lot better then the stock KT-5. You can tune the car more precisely steering and throttle wise.
EDIT- The transmitter also has an LCD display. It shows battery life, how much left or right you've adjusted your steering, how much throttle trim has been set, ETC.
EDIT- Tried PMing you a price, but your PM box was full. The price is $33+ shipping, let me know if you're interested.

Sorry, Im not fully understanding. I know I"m kinda slow because I don't really know anything about transmitters. If you can provide any additional information to help please let me know. Keep in mind I don't really know anything. I'm going to research right now in the meantime so I can understand better. I'm definitely interested.
The MX-A has alot of the same functions that the higher end radios have.
End Point Adjustment for steering and throttle. So you can limit the amount of steering to the left or right individually, as well as throttle and brake. This will allow you to reduce the brake amount to make it easier to use without locking up the rear. I prefer this to the ABS function found in the Futaba 2PL.
Steering/Throttle trim and sub trim adjustments.
ARC - Exponential adjustment for steering and throttle. You can adjust the curve to give you more precision at the beginning or end of the movement of wheel/trigger. If you want to have less twitchyness in steering on the straight, but dont want to limit the full steering capability.
You can also move the location of the throttle trigger closer or further from the handle.
Its been a while since I have used the transmitter... But I did like it. I got the same reception with my helios... Futaba seems to have a little more power with the AM signal. But if you dont glitch a lot with the KT-5, you should be fine with the MX-A (glitches less than the KT-5). Where I race there is a lot of noise, as there is a music studio next door, and when they play... it can get glitchy.
I would get the MX-A, as this is a good deal on it... then when you want to go ASF, but a new EX-1UR with the module... If you dont like the MX-A, its not much of a hit, and you could probably sell it for the same price as you bought it for.

Yeah!, Thats just what I was looking for! the Arc feature is the one I was interested in the most. Do I need anything additional to run this with my car? If not then i'd really like to purchase it from you.

I can vouch for the Airtronics MX-A, great transmitter. You shouldn't need anything else to run your AM cars
You just need the AM crystals that you already have ;)

Recieved transmitter. So far I love it. I suck at tuning the car though I will need more practice. Thanks again greekone!
