tallgeese had mentioned that he had seen a picture of a limited edition Mazda Rx-7 FD3S body . . .

"I'm pretty sure that the RX-7 was pictured in a few links from one of the 2008 japanese hobby shows that was posted up on the internet, if you search around a little, you may be able to find some pics of it for yourself. I hope this information helps you out, just to remind you. The RX-7 that I saw was an FD version, and it was white, gunmetal and red in color.. It also came in a clear box with a custom sticker on top with possibly a signature on the box"

Can anyone point me to some pics or a link of what he might be talking about. He and I have both been unable to find this.

Thanks in advance.

Just a random recollection but I vaguely recall herman posting something like this in a long thread from a Japanese hobby show? :)

Thanks for posting the info guys. I'm trying to keep records of all the rare bodies so this is very helpful. Eventually the idea is to put up a site that has records of everything when these other webpages are no longer up.

soultice... quite a project... i'd would definitely like to see it when its done... i remember a thread where you answered my inquiry of how many takata versions kyosho came out with... it was pretty informative...

I hope that for 150$ that pack included a 2.4 MR15 as well... As far as body, looking at the scheme- it seems very easy to paint yourself.

wondering if somebody can shed some information on this... and explain why it's... er "an item"

soulstice

I think it's an "item" just because it was a show exclusive and limited to 10 units. Since this was a custom paint job, it's not as desireable to me versus say a limited official kyosho release or a number custom paint release from kyosho.

Hey Herman,

Glad I could be of help. My eventual plan is to make an exhaustive website about mini-z specifically focused on autoscales since I've become an avid collector. This includes official releases, clones, and rare items with as much specifics as I can gather on each. For rare items I'd have devoted pages to them.

I had been working on the data collection aspect of this project in my free time here and there during 2007-2008 but have since lost steam since my current job is so demanding on time. Hopefully I'll be able to find time here and there again to finish this project off as I'm not too far from completion. Maybe 85% on the data side, the clones are a bit tricky to keep track of.

clones i can think of are... i-waver bodies...
and well not so clones mini-power... too bad they don't make bodies anymore... i really liked their 206 peugot... they also got the vw bug, and the mr2...
there may be others that you know, which i don't know about...

good luck in the process...
