I'd like to start a thread on ONLY generic transponders for any lap timing system.

Please post only information regarding the generic transponder and your opinion of it's use. there are already threads for How to use generic transponders with core (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30506) and the use of generic transponders with flipsideracing software (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28176)

please include relevant product information, timing system used with, etc.

this does not need to be limited to core. if alternative solution are available for other systems, please post them as well.

These are the ones that will work with both the Flipside Timing Software and also with my fix for Generic tags with core.

Theses Tag-it transponders from Mouser Electronics are the ones I have used and know work. These are also the ones you can purchase in smaller quantities of 1 or more.

The 45mm x 76mm are the standard size and also the most reliable as far as detection. the 45mm x 45mm work good as well. the 38mm x 22.5mm ones work great with the F1 and fit under the front wing. the problem with the small ones are they don't pick up and will tend to miss laps on if your timer is on the fast portion of your track. so timing placement is key when using the small tags.

Search for Part #'s below. They can all be had for less than $1 each. :D
