I visited today the Toyeast website and saw new Mini Cooper bodies and the all new BMW M3 body: very beautifull detailed! But when will Fangel update us about the AWD by Iwaver? We have heard nothing anymore from our friend Edmond! Anyway here is a picture of the new BMW M3

I heard from Pinky by mail that they will give up the project... :(

Bad news for us... I hope they wont give up...

Hmmmm....will Iwaver disappear in the end and will kyosho be the only competitor and reigning the 1/28 market? Hope not. Last year Xmods releases two new bodies on the evo chassis and nothing else, Iwaver didn't released a thing. I like the new black M3 body for my 02M. I think I am going to buy one and use it as a Pimp my Ride project.

I went to Toyeast in Hong Kong directly to pick up 3 M3 bodies. I got one in white and one in gunmetal. The silver one in the last picture is for a friend.

The body is not bad for the price but the proportions are a little bit off. Also, the level of detail isn't quite as high as the Kyosho bodies. The CF roof is a nice touch though

ON WITH THE PICS!!!

Thanks for the pics. I ordered a white one from HK which should be here by the end of this week. Have you figured out what MR-02 offsets can be used?

I'm actually on vacation in Hong Kong without all my mini z stuff. I'm not even sure exactly what length the body is (94 /98).

The wheels that come with the body are 0N and 0W. If you want, you can probably get away with +1 (MAX) in the rear. For a MR-02, I wouldn't use anything higher than a 0N in the front. Anything higher will just cause the tire to catch walls.

very nice. i just got the black version today and for anyone wanting to fit it to the awd you will need the 98mm extension set to the farthest setting s heres some pics of mine fitted to a awd chassis and the wheels will only fit a mro1/015/02

MrUnlimited

Don't you have to use offset wheels?

okoye
2009.05.19, 02:48 PM
dont have to but you can. most people on here hate filling out the wheel wells.

i like having everything flush fitting

here is a side pic with the awd chassis a nd subaru wheels fitted. and you could use a +0.5 or +1 on the rear but from what ive seen you would have to use o offset on the front

forgot to say anyone wanting to race this body will either have to drill a hole in the rear glass or go 2.4 or even use a internal antenna

Mine was waiting at home for me when I got back from a business trip. I have other iWaver bodies that I use on MR-02s and they are all 98mm. Never occured to me this new M3 would be any different.

This morning I grabbed one of my 98mm MR-02 chassis to mount the car and discovered the body is for 102mm chassis. Not necessarily a problem, but I was surprised.

The other obvious difference is the construction of this new body is more like ASCs. Body material is solid color, windows, head and tail lights and other emblems are separate parts attached to body. Not at all like the iWaver Saleens and Firelap Enzos which are made of molded clear material which is painted and are generally one piece.

Decided to weigh this body. It came in at 46.1 grams without the front clip.

Put my ASC M3 on the scale. It weighs 42.1 grams with some decals and the glue in the nose.

...............................................ASC M3 iW M3
Outside width at front fenders 72.00mm 68.62mm
Outside width at rear fenders 72.18mm 70.38mm
Inside length nose to tail 150.44mm Too long for my caliper, 154+

The new iWaver M3 is longer, narrower AND heavier than the ASC :(

Anyone want a brand new white one?

hi eztuner yes it comes with everything needed to fit to the awd or mro2 all you have todo is extend the chassis of whatever chassis you are going to use

It looks good but needs some oversized wheels, the ones in the picture look tiny compared to the wheel-wells.

Yup, like okoye said, you could mod xmods rims to fit on other mini-z. (MR-01, MR-02, MR-015, OL)
