Tried to search, but it's a bit difficult when practically every thread has the same words...

What's the difference between the AM and ASF chassis? I assume the top cover is different?

I plan on getting an ASF car, and want to change out the chassis with this one

http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=16659&cat=355&page=1

I assume that is an AM chassis since it doesn't say ASF. Anyone know?

Better picture of it here, but since I don't have an MR02, I don't know how to tell if it's compatible by the picture

Thanks
Chris

Yeah thats a am chassis. All you need to do is dremel out a space for the board port/antenna and your good to go.

Cool thanks. Ok another noob question, I frankly have no idea what the board port is for. I haven't seen anything online that points to interface software or cables or anything?

If you look at the top deck of a 2.4 car you will see a little rectangle. Thats where you plug the cable into. The am cars don't have this.

Yes but I don't have the cable and have never seen the cable for sale anywhere. Not tinyrc, not atomic, not kenon...

Your question was weather or not that chassis will fit a ASF car and the answer is yes, but you need to dremel out a space to that the top cover fits over your data port.

A couple other memebers on here told me you were a jackass and I shouldn't buy anything from you, they were right. You're so stupid you can't even understand a simple question.

Satin- Dude!- He is trying to help you and has given you good information.

Yes it is AM and Yes it will fit---- You must alter the top cover as Ocean indicated or purchase a separate kit that will give you an asf cover.

The only problem is that it will not be transparent if that is what you were looking for.

it's also in the shop here (http://shop.tinyrc.com/product.php?productid=18709), just helps to know what your looking for ;)

opps, someone else beat me to it.

but in general, there is plenty of information out there on this, shops that carry it etc.

a simple search for 'ics' turns up more threads than i'm sure anyone cares to read through.

Somebody's passive-aggressive, lol...

For what it's worth, the question hasn't been entirely answered yet... the board port is for an accessory cable that allows you to fine-tune the characteristics of your car, including steering strength and speed and throttle power and smoothness. WhiteSatin, since you don't even have an ASF car yet, you don't need this cable. And you need to learn how to search -- this is the Google age for crying out loud.
