I actually really enjoyed washing them. They were just dusty. Oh and about a spoon full.

Here is what I used-

I love when guys like byebye post stuff like this...when my wife comes in and looks over my shoulder and says "I guess you don't spend too much on these things." makes me feel really special inside.:D

Love the collection, byebye...I'd probably maim someone to get my hands on a couple of those as well.:D

Yeah sounds about right. I remember you switched over to a mercedes vodafone after I think. It hasn't grown much. I need the "fina Mclaren" in the long tail to round out the mclaren collection.

Yeah there are days I just look at the stuff and recall the memories of racing with friends and family. They all have some kind of story behind them. I'd say the rarest ones I have are the supras.

what rims are on the mclaren?

Which Mclaren? On the Orange/white is the Square BBS Inch ups. On the Gray/white are Kyosho 12 spoke wheels(0 offset) for the NSX.

Nice collection. I use a micro fiber rag and Pledge to clean mine. Spray it on the rag or the car and wipe it down.

The water/soap mix in the bucket is filled just above the thickness of the sponge. I drop the whole thing in(dummy chassi and body) and just light press the asc against the sponge. Not real hard but just enough for it to dab the dust off. I then drop it in a seperate warm water only bucket to rinse. I set them on the towel afterwards and let them air dry. I use a microfiber towel and just bloch the tops of the cars to get any excess water off.

Before they hit the shelf I give'em a shake and usually some water comes out. Then I place them back on the shelf.

It has worked out well so far. I maybe do this once a year.

Oh I still have that one. It's in a drawer with a couple other ASC's not on the shelf. I ran out of dummy chassis.

Thanks! Yes, I bought it just after the MA-010 came out. It was intended to be a drifter but never made it passed the shelf.

No beaters on the shelf! Those end up in a drawer(not the same as the UK F430 though). But no I don't have either of those.

I like that one metallic gray/white Mclaren you pictured, it's color scheme reminds me of Airwolf.
For drying them, I highly recommend using an air-compressor to blow-dry it. Carefull not to let the water just dry or you'll get water-spots on it. :D
Nice collection and I hope to some day rebuild mine!

bb, detergent doesn't eat away at the glosscoat?

I usually just use lukewarm water and then dry it.

Will try out some detergent though as it looks to
be easier lol.

Supercool collection.

I'd suggest using those detergents that are "safe for hands". You know what I mean.......... if it's safe for the hands, it'll certainly be safe for the models.

Nothing adverse so far but the exposure is limited and they air dry. Actually the last time I did this I used car soap. I'd say car soap would be better than dish soap because its clear coat friendly.

ahh memories.... :D
