I've purchased an Xmod's Evo7 and just recieved it, and was wondering if anyone else has done any conversions from xmods to mini-z's, and if there was any tips on it?
It seems pretty straight forward so far, though i need to buy a clip set!
Thanks,
Matt

You mean the evo 8? :) I have just fitted one to my awd. I made my own front clip from styrene.

What are you guys using for the side clips? Are they available somewhere, or are you just cutting them out of trashed bodies?

Apparently the lancia delta front clip is just about perfect(i was too impatient to wait) The easiest way to get the clips is to get the VDS clip set. :)

I used the xmod front clip. You have to remove alot of material of the top of the clip. This will make the clip very thin at the bottom. I bonded some CF to the bottom of the clip to stiffen it up. Then drill the holes.

The side clips are easier. I used double sided foam tape to get the height the way I wanted it. You may need to remove the side clips alot before you get the body to sit the way you want. Once you get it just right put the body on the chassis and carefully drip thin CA onto the double sided foam tape. This will make it hard and adhere the clips to body.

Nice stuff! I'm tempted to get the new Challenger 2010 just to be unique on the track, but I really SHOULD finish a supra I was converting first. I've noticed that side clips dont glue on Xmod shells very well, any solutions to this problem guys?

that is one hell a job you done there. i never knew so many people had done this conversion. you could always try something like hot glue as it should hold better than super glue it took me ages to get mine to stick to the shell

that looks fantastic byebye, where did you get those rims from by the way they fit the body perfectly!

in terms of modding the front clip, i recieved the body with a GPM aluminium front clip, so it makes modding a little bit difficult, especially in terms of sanding down! :(

ill see about getting the lancia clip, but where do i get the side clips from?
can someone give me a direct link?
hopefully on here or e.g.r.m.a.r.t :)
thanks,
matt
