View Full Version : Not clear on throttle endpoint / esc calibration

I have a few questions that I'm hoping some of you could answer. The background is that this is an MR-02 controller by a 3PKS transmitter with an AM module. There are a few things I noticed that may or may not be normal.

1 - I believe that at about the 70% or 80% trigger point (meaning I'm engaging throttle, mostly) I believe the car hits top speed. From there until 100%, it's the same speed. While this is certainly not the end of the world, it's not ideal. Is there something I can do to the car / ESC to calibrate it? Or should I just turn down the EPA some on the transmitter so that the full range of trigger is meaningful?

2 - At 0% trigger engagement, the motor whines on the car. I noticed that if I set the throttle trim to about 20% or so, the motor does not wine at all and the car sits motionless. I guess I'm wondering again whether I'm meant to calibrate the ESC or whether it's normal to have to trim the throttle somewhat from the transmitter.

Issue 1, yes you need to set the controller endpoint down. This is normal.

Issue 2, you need to set the throttle trim on the controller.
