converted by Dale AKA Reaper to test 130 motors, hopefully the big flywheel will be ok as i have found they did do a slot motor conversion with a lighter one.

so far ive got the software uploaded, just got to wait for the registration info ($85) then its down to figuring out what to test first:eek:

Hopefully some of you more technical guys can help with translating the data and making sure its reasonably accurate:)

That is extremely cool. I love tinkering with things :)

*85 chit im sure there is a trial version of the software that is a free download

as we discussed earlier the flt wheel you have is the upgraded one for use with high rpm motors (aluminum as opposed to stock steel)
this is how the dyno works torque out the time it takes to spin up and down (just how a torque converter works on 1/1 dynos )

did you sort out the diagram bud ?

Sweet machine Matt.... Beat me to the punch, hehe:D It's all good bro, you know that....:D

Hope you can post some numbers for some motors, see how they compare to the OEM specs. PN is usually pretty good. Atomic, they give such a wide range of Rpm on some motors. I'd like to know torque for the Atomic Stock (yellow label), Atomic AWD-Stock (Orange+ yellow lettering), Atomic Stock-R, Atomic Chili, hell, all Atomic motors....:D:D:D

ill be doing the whole atm and pn ranges,in most cases 2 of the same motor:D

ok,
we finally got it running but need to get the flywheel machined down and find the slotcar software:rolleyes:

hopefully in the next few weeks ill be able to test all the motors i can get my hands on:D

a taste of things to come

the same motor on my muchmore, running off the same battery pack that is used with the FFM kicks out 26370rpm.
this is why we need a lighter flywheel

Do you have an Atomic Standard Race USA motorhttp://store.hkshobby.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/MO-USA.JPG&w=100&h=66 (http://store.hkshobby.com/product_info.php?products_id=4552)?
I would love to see that compared to a PN 70t and ATM Standard BBhttp://store.hkshobby.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/AR076_m.jpg&w=100&h=75 (http://store.hkshobby.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_75_34_155&products_id=1593)...
Also, do you have a 3Racing motor http://store.hkshobby.com/product_thumb.php?img=images/AWD32.jpg&w=100&h=75 (http://store.hkshobby.com/product_info.php?cPath=23_75_34_155&products_id=1118)?
I have never seen any details for the 3Racing or USA motor.

Hey Matt, ya know in order to own a Fantom Facts Dyno you have to have at least some knowledge about motors, lol!:D Just joking around of course:D

That Fantom machine is definitely a cool lil' device though. Now that you got the flywheel and the software, I am looking forward to whatever info you post about motors. It will be cool to see how the motors differentiate themselves. Because many motors have similar RPM ranges and Amp draw, that info in itself doesn't tell the whole story a motor has to tell. When you are able to measure torque-output and acceleration, and efficiency, that will really help to choose the right motor for the right track I think.

Thanks for the updates. Looking forward to more Matt:D
