Rumors are pointing the Mosler as the famous car.

And I agree on the Mosler as this mysterious model.

There are some infos on the f******k page of TRP.

The body should be a 98mm. I'm pretty curious to see the final result of this body. The mosler is pretty cool.

The car's greenhouse isn't the best job, but everything else seems to have been faithfully replicated. Looking forward to seeing it run. :)

It doesn't appear to be the same car. The mirrors are different. The wing seems to be turned around based on the visual angle of the end plates and if you look carefully at the cut of the quarter window it seems different also. The greenhouse on the first shot looks like it came from an old Celica while the latest shot looks like a Porsche GT-1. The Union Jack is missing from the hood of the first photo as well.. Does anyone else se obvious differences?

What gets me is it seems really tall above the rear wheels. The trunk seems too high...but maybe its just hte pics. I think it looks pretty good, but for me, its too similar to the big Mac. Ill have to see once I get my hands on one though :D

The second picture is a 3d rendering, probably from the design stage.
The proportions of the real body is a little off I agree.

This body is AWSOME Hood and I ran track 2 time trials over memorial day weekend. We will be posting new time 3:57 for joe and 3:58 for hood.
This body has far better balance than any other bodies we have run. TRP did this one right, does not stick to walls as some othe bodies do. Seems to just glance off the wall not draw itself into it. A+ in my book will post pics after they are painted.

I love this body's performance in how stable handling it ran even in Mod class but one thing I am still trying to resolve is the side body clips.
They made the width too wide so chassis will shift side to side which rear tires edge may rub the fender lips. I am using tape now but it is not a permanent fix due to wearing out from daily body on/off. Anyone else come across this issue since my hobby shop's owner also trying to think of a more permanent remedy ?

i just started messing with mine and also found the side clip issue. i was going to pop the left side as you face the car off and install a plastic shim behind it to move it over a bit. it has worked on other bodies of mine and should work for this one as well.

ok so heres what i did.... and what i do to all of my bodies with windows!
taught to me by STEVE VINES!
where the bottom of the windows meet the body run a small bead of CA to make it one solid piece!
the other thing that i do regardless of what body is to squeeze the side skirts of the body while i heat the sides EVENLY with a heat gun or blow dryer :D

Holy Cow! Those look great!
I raced mine for the first time last night and other than some front wheel clearance issues with the headlight boxes, it worked great! Clearance was fixed with an xacto knife. I didn't really care for the TRP Megane body, but they did a great job with this Mosler body.

Are there any prototype versions of this pan body available? If so, are they permitted for the PNWC this year? I believe that would be an unfair advantage for those that can get them unless they are released on market.

I hope there is more front aero. The ATM VDS is far superior due to the aero package and lighter weight, but is less durable...

hrdrvr
2010.07.26, 07:28 AM
^ Personally I think the VDS is more durable too. Even though it is lighter plastic it seems to flex more, where the pn body just breaks. Ive got a half dozen or more PN pan cars with a front corner ripped off. Some of the bodies were even reinforced when they were broken. A lot of them I re-glued, and ran some more, but I've only got one that hasn't been broken. Ive only run it a few times. I'm not hard on bodies either. Ive got plenty of ASCs that Ive been running for years. They are just weak at the sides of the front clip mounts, and the sharp corners are perfect for getting leverage on that part in an angled collision with the wall. I had one for a couple of years that didn't break, but in the two years since then, Ive seen tons and tons of PN pan cars broken like this in our club. I think the plastic may have changed at some point to something more brittle. I think I remember there being a discussion about it a while back on here....

Anyway, Ive heard a few details about the new PanCar, and I;m really looking forward to it. I'll keep them to myself, and let PN divulge what they wish, but it sounds sweet :D

EMU - Would some one from PN being able to run this new body be any different than one of them running an A-Arm suspension on an 03?, or a reflex racer running their front end at any previous regional? The fact is that prototype parts aren't illegal, and whether its fair or not, its something us non-sponsored racers have to fight at every event.

Will somebody(PN, Atomic, TRP{when you make a pan body}, who ever else makes pan bodies) just make the canopy just a little wider to fit the AWD...please. :D

Davey G

Isnt this thread for the TRP Mosler? I guess I am guilty of chiming in as well. PN drivers will NOT have this body for racing but might be able to show you CAD files via Phils I-phone. Maybe someone should start up a thread for the new PN pan car body.

The MOSLER body is super popular in the mod class at MHS. We have sold a TON of them. Maj has been the fastest with 0mm and 1mm offsets. I dont think he is running any more then that. Some people are using 2mm all around. No matter what Body I always use 0 rears and either 1mm or 0mm front rim.

EMU
2010.07.26, 04:58 PM
Dave, I think it evolved to a Pan body thread because it handles so close to a Pan car

My Pan class car that I setup for the PN race was setup on a Mosler, since I cant use the Pan body in normal races. I use 0n/1W for my wheels as well.

This is a great body with good stability and carries lots of speed through the corner. Great for the PN layout :)

Sorry I wont be making it to the worlds this year.

Herman- Im half filipino and half japanese.. The pic of the body was not sitting on a chassis yet as it just got done with paint. Maybe ill try some orange wheels in the future after I get tired of flourescent yellow wheels.

Any word if the Renault Megane is still in production? Our track (Cruizin RC) just added a Megane class and it's growing like wild fire!

I was just gonna ask, Isn't your bodies "sloppy"? I am able to move the body about 2-3 mm sideways and I have to wrap a tape strip around it to keep it from falling off the chassis..

Would really appreciate if someone had a solution to share :D

Use a heat gun to pull the body closer to where you want it.
