Fascinating location... congrats.

But I tell you, 90'x45' is tooooo biiigggg for Mini-z's. You'll get bored driving around it.

The good thing is you can use big motor and accceeleraateeeee all the way!! Oh, one detail: you may have problems seeing the mini-z on the other side of the track!

Anyway is cool. We have a dual track, that we race mini-z and 1/18's. So it's about 30' x 21' with a 4' rail width, and it's really a super highway for mini-z's!!!

If we get more tracks this size we might actually be able to push for LiPo-powered Mini-Z's. The venue looks sweet, I think I should plan at least one trip down sometime while I'm still down in SoCal. :)

Thanks all replies guys.

Sorry for replying late, I havn't received any subscription emails from this forum.

I'm thinking, put Kyosho mini-z carpet on top of my carpet.

I can easily remove the barriers, because I'm using CRC Barrier system.

We can have mini-z day, if it works.

Any idea, advice please leave a post.

Also, If you sign up www.tqrcracing.com, you will get free practice coupon.

Thanks.

i do think that this could be good for a PANCAR SPEC CLASS!

Grip looks surprisingly good. How much setup work did you have to do to get them to handle like that? How hot did the 33t get with the 14t pinion. I would think that the 35t may be a better option geared up like that, should have more torque... The slight decrease in RPM shouldnt make as much of a difference. I think that would be a fun class :)

didnt have to change my set up at all! at first i ran pn carpet tires but the grip was so much that it pulled the tires off the wheels! the ca glue just wouldnt hold them on! so i ended up using pn rcp 20 fronts and kyosho 20 radial rears cause that is what i had in my tire box that were used....
heat was not a problem....i didnt have my temp gun but by the touch im gonna say that it was less then 100 deg!
the problem with the motor we ran was it was topped out about 2/3 of the straightaway a 35 would have been topped out alittle earlier i think....:D

nope... there was more than enough on the track...so long as u stayed in the groove!

I saw once or twice you went a little out of the groove, and it looked like you had less grip. I wonder how it would be with 8 Mini-Z's... next video?

Hope Sean or someone can video all three races for upload everywhere, personally can't think of a more unique mini-Z event in SOCAL ever(or anywhere else) and also what a massive general promo taking Mini-Z straight to the heart of SOCAL on road community in the most effective way possible. Looks like actual number of cars on track will be as high as anticipated which will make the whole experience that much more fun :D

This race was a blast...10 cars running on a 90'x45' wide open track with 33-32 turn power, as you can imagine was one heck of a good time. A noteworthy point was passing, was kinda expected but was confirmed in the race that faster cars could get off line and pass very cleanly (at least i got passed that way a bunch of times:o) A full house of racers from other scales were amused watching Z's zip around the track so well. All in all A+++ fun race. can't wait to do it again...& hopefully again!
I think one of the races was videoed...maybe it will be posted somewhere soon.

Fun race day start to finish on Sunday, racing mini-Zs on that big open track is such a treat! Smooth running program and a friendly environment makes it even better.
eComet thanks for posting that video, I think I saw sparks when I spun out and decided to recover by heading into oncoming....my bad, ouch Thanks to Grant for straightening out the setup on my car through the day and Bruce your foam O-Zone tires and TQ carpet are a match made in heaven from what I observed!!
Chris C., well deserved podium, stout runs & great result at the end.
Fast man Chad's clean get away ended up being his ticket to P1, he was up to his usual MO cruising with massive pace.
Alex N. you need to paint your mini-Z pan car silver, the 12th scale version was straight fire.

Can't wait for next session of mini-Z at TQ. Plan is to pop in those Li-Fe's for next time speeds will be b a l l i s t i c:
