Hi!
I have several MR-02 and MR-03 and would like to know if anybody had tried to put a complete 03 electronics, with servo motor, in a 02 chassis, is it necessary to make any changes on the chassis or electronic to make it work?
Regards, Ruben

greetings and welcome to the forums...

i've read somewhere that somebody was able to put the mr03 board in a 02 chassis...
he had to use the 02 servo motor though...

hope this helps... :D

Sure putting it in is easy enough, that servo motor like you mentioned totally different story.

Hi, and thanks for the replies, like Action B sad I suppose that the biggest problem is the servo motor, I don't think that the 03 board can support the 02 motor, is it possible to put the gears of the 02 servo motor in the 03 servo, doesn't it going to put in more stress, because it is a smaller motor

There are no ill effects from running the 02 servo and motor from the 03 board. Actually the smaller 03 motor is MUCH stronger than the one used in the 02.

Thanks for all the info, I will try to put the 02 motor on the 03 board and see what happens, I hope not to burn the board :D , I will inform on the end of the results

For additional safety do your solder work at the motor end.

ah... found the post...

pedrocamp put a mr03 board in his f-1 chassis...

he just used the bigger servo motor on the mr03 board... i figure if you can put it in an f-1, you can definitely put it in an 02... hope this helps... :D

Hi, like I sad here are some photos of the 03 electronics on a 02 chassis, the work was really straight forward just needed to solder servo motor wires in the board, the next part was to make the board fit on the chassis, this required a little more work. I had to use a dremel to cut the necessary holes on the top part because of the gyro connection and because the ICS connection is not on the same spot as the 02 board, on the chassis I had to add a little piece that I cut from the top part otherwise the board wouldn't had a support point left side, this piece that I cut also made the the top part close correctly. After all this I bind the board with the radio, I didn't do a test run yet but I tested the connection between the board and radio and everything worked out fine, now I need to put some tyres and a body and make a test run.
I will keep you posted on the progresses.
Sorry but some pics are out of focus.

Long Live MR02:) I am doing the same conversion myself soon with the help of a good friend of mine, 03 PCB into an MR02 chassis. Except I'ma have a special little secret under the hood....:D More info coming soon.
