Hello again everyone! Mini-AZ is pleased to announce the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Phoenix on Saturday Nov 6th. This will be a full length Grand Prix race based upon the real FIA competition, and run on a replica of the 1989 Phoenix USGP road circuit.

Just as the real sport, Mini-Z F1 is difficult, challenging, and a high prestige race in which to compete. At Mini-AZ we enjoy our closest competition in this class, and we invite drivers and clubs from everywhere to join us on Nov 6th for this very special race event.

Qualifying will be by Q1/Q2/Q3 elimination. The mandated race distance is 7.89 miles (305km at 1:24 scale), so our race will be 289 laps. In addition to the Driver's Championship there is also the Constructor's Championship for two car teams.

Participation is free, just drop me a line at miniaz@gmail.com to let me know you are coming. We score using the ultra-reliable Giro-Z system. I'm working on sponsors for cash prizes, we'll see.

Phoenix in November enjoys temps in the 70's, so if you enjoy Golf, make a week of it! Catch NASCAR's penultimate race at PIR the following weekend. Do you run 1:10 or 1:8 scale? We also have a couple popular on and off-road tracks for the big guys. And if you're into dirt bikes, well, the whole state is pretty much an MX course.

So come on out to Phoenix and enjoy the sun before your blizzards set in back home ;) (We are envious of those blizzards, its 107 now)

Attached is a picture of the community center room and the USGP layout fitment, its big.
