I 3rd that curiousity, a new pan body is needed. Let's have this class evolve like F1 and AWD.

Binh, if you have a F1 class, I'm sure they'll be enough F1's to make up a class. It's the latest Mini Z craze!

Wow what a race, I definitely had a good time racing with the best mini-zer's CA. Special grats to Mr Binh Do for the amazing run. Never saw a race director perform so well. I think the only time he touched his car during the race was to put batteries in. It was nice to see the socal PN crew (Grant, Chad, the Ng family) again and I look forward to the worlds (hopefully if I can make it). :)

Another great event put on by ILR! I had a lot of fun racing and getting to help and hang out with fellow racers. Man that was some intense racing! A few of us did all 3 classes and basically ended up running 30 mins straight of back to back mains! Endurance race! haha. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone that raced this event! And props to Ryan Crabb for making it to the STOCK Amain on his first mini z event. This guy been only racing mini z for less then a few months.

Special thanks to:

-ILR family for putting on the event
-PN racing for hooking me up with the new pan body
-SoCal drivers for making the trip out
-FPR for taking care of me for the race
-Peter Dinh, Ken Vidal, Randy Zhu for being my pit crew
-Ryan Crabb for buying me lunch :)

Big thanks to all who attended which made this race great. Thank you Philip for all the great prizes and giving everyone in the pan class a free body. Thank you PN racing crew for making the drive up to race with us. Thank you to all the unsung guys behind the scene that keep the day running smooth. For me the highlight of the weekend was the kids class. We had a full field of ten single digit racers with the youngest being only five. It was a great race with all the kids going home with hardware.

In the stock class Chad Nelson put down a crazy fast early TQ run and the fast lap of the day of 8.16s. Chad's run held up until the last qualifier of the day when Chad and Sagisi battled for the TQ spot. It went down to the last miniute and with Sagisi edging Chad by 1.7s. In the mains, Sagisi from the pole got the hole shoot and never looked back. Chad was not as lucky and had to fight his way back to the front of the pack. With 3 minutes remaining, Chad was within 3 seconds of Sagisi. However with time Chad running out of time, Sagisi held on for the win. There was also an epic battle for the 3/4 spot between Mike and Clint that went down to the wire. Watch the video and see what I mean.

In the modified class Mike Ma held down the early TQ. In round two Sagisi took back the TQ. Then somehow in round three I held down the TQ. Then with the last qualifier, Sagisi took back the TQ by 1.5s. This was definitely the best main of the night. Watch the video and let me know what you think. The whole shot was a perfect train. The top four guys were within 4 seconds of each other the whole race. First place was held by three different people multiple times during the race. One tiny mistake by any of the top four meant a change in position. This could have been anyone's race, however in the end Chad was just too tall and took the victory.

In pan car modified, Sagisi once again took the TQ honors. Early on in the race it was a one two three train of Sagisi, Chad, and Grant. Mid was through Sagisi had a few bobbles and Chad took over the one spot and never looked back. Then it came down to the 2/3 battle with Grant and Sagisi. Grant was able to be more consistent to take second place. Then the only drama left in the race was if we were going to see Grant set the fastest lap of the weekend. I was pushing him on the mic and we almost saw it. Fastest lap of the weekend was held by Chad with 7.65s and Grant with a 7.69, both times were in the main.

Thank you again everyone for making this a great event. I hope everyone is asking about the next one. I will post the official results later along with pictures.

Thanks Binh and Philip for organizing the event. PNWC is a great series that enables drivers across the globe to see how they stack up against each other. It is especially great to have Chad and Grant in most events as the lab mice (a small and a big one that is) to normalize the lap times vis-a-vis track conditions.

Both my stock and mod cars are amazing. However, a couple bobbles are all it takes to send me mid-pack at this level of competition. A special shout out to Binh who took home the mod 2nd place trophy while being the incredible race director that he is.

I had fun catching up with Philip, his family, and the PN Socal crew Chad, Grant, Bob. The mini-z community is just lucky to have a dedicated sponsor like him. Sorry to have missed the dinner party afterward. Did Grant actually bought the first round?

We are lucky to be in a high traffic location where we can attract many young racers. The young kids learn very fast and sometimes beat my adult racers.

I'm going to be doing a Midwest PN Regional in the Chicagoland area (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36448). One of the questions I have is how many classes I can fit in from 10am-8pm (the hours of the event).

I see you posted this schedule. I was wondering if you ended up running behind or if this schedule was easy to keep?

Also, what was the age limit for the youth class?

The schedule can be keep however you must stay on top of it. We really don't have an age limit for the youth class, we just let the kids choose for themselves.
