View Full Version : Can anyone build a BMW M3 E92 GTS?

I really love this car and want a Mini-Z body exactly like this. I have yet to find an E90/91/92 series to even start from. Making something custom is way beyond my talents.

Do any of you think you could recreate this?

I'd say if anyone I know can do it, it would have to be Dr. Kustom

Look through the thread in the below link. You'll see page after page of amazing custom work.

you could ask somebody to modify it to your liking (i understand that dr. kustom accepts custom jobs too)...

almost forgot kyosho also came out with a bmw m3
http://www.kyosho.com/common/image.php?id=106716

for a line up of kyosho's autoscale collection click here (http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/rc/body_lineup.html?series_index_id=50001)
although it's an official kyosho site, i don't think it's complete since they took off some pictures of bodies that are no longer in production...

Yeah, that's the closest thing I've found and it is not an M3. It's a 3 Series with the M nostrils. Still looks like something Dr Kustom could work with. Only problem is that I can't find one of these anywhere.

Yeah I saw that. Not the model I'm looking for. Too different to customize too.

the iwaver bmw is a M3 e92
just see what look like a standard E92
http://www.automobile-sportive.com/guide/bmw/335icoupe/335icoupe-ouverture.jpg
check the hood and the front bumper

not too much work to change the iwaver M3 E92 onto the M3 E92 GTS that you show on your first post

Well when you put them side by side it they look almost exactly the same, don't they? lol

I guess the next step is finding one of those bodies. Can't find any online so I'll have to post up in the BST forum to see if anybody wants to sell theirs.

''At the moment, I am only a student, just finished high school this summer, trying to get into college and I'm currently un-employed.''
i'm sure he'd appreciate any work coming his way... :D

Thanks for the recommendation guys! :) Seems like an easy task to turn the E92 into the E92 GTS. You just gotta find one of those iWaver E92 and I can take care of the rest. :p

I found a white one on the forums. I'm going to have him ship it straight to you, Doc. ;)

Please check you PM and let me know where to ship it.

Now, anyone know where I could find some cool rims to go along with it? I'd love to have something close to the pic in the OP.

Send you an email response about the PM. :)

As for the rims, Square BBS rims would look very good on it, just like the pic alex21turbo posted.

yeah and make them inch up (gun metal finish)... don't know what the offsets are on the iwaver m3 though... :D

I used to have one iWaver M3.
It uses 0-Narrow front and 0-SemiWide back rims.
The front track width matches the wider MR-02/MR-03W (not sure for that).
The wheelbase is 102mm.
Here are some pics of my ex M3 :)
The rims are aluminium iWaver rims.

Thanks! That's helpful. How did you rig that lighting kit? Is that an accessory that Kyosho makes? I like it.

yes kyosho makes a light set...take a look at dr. kustoms project fit (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32096&page=9)...

there are other third party manufacturers who make their own versions...
if i'm not mistaken kyosho has an accelerometer... which activates the brake lights when you slow down... :D

there are even blinkers on drift cars...

My light kit was homemade.
This particular iWaver body has holes in the head and tail lights intended to put LEDs in there.
