Decided to put the F1 Mini-z control to a FHSS 2.4Ghz Futaba platform through a full electronic swap. This allows a fully digital coded link between the transmitter and the car;

Here is the familiar 2.4Ghz antenna;

I got a R603GF 2.4Ghz FHSS receiver;

took the cover out;

and mounted it on top of a F1 Mini-Z. Given its low profile components, fitting it inside the shell is not a problem;

Obviously the Servo and Motor control needs to be PWM based for us to be able to link it to the RX. That means, an external servo board connected to the stock Mini-Z steering motor and Pot is needed;

and an external ESC (brushless) with built-in BEC for RX and servo power;
