I've done some research on this topic before and they use Truck bodies from FLY Slot Cars 1/32 scale. The problem is that i can't find the truck bodies alone but just w/ the slot car which brings the price to $80 to $145.

It is awesome by the way! :-)

This is a body slot, brand Fly, is a white body painted and adapted by me. I hope you like to know how I did the adaptation.

But what type of chassis is that?

Kyosho should make a body like this. It would break up the same old Nissan, lambo, and Ferrari bodies they constantly make. Wouldn't it be cool to see 8 of these trucks goin around the track.

Hey PN, Trp you should jump in on this too.

this stuff is not new guys. EU drivers have been doing this for a LONG time. you'll find old posts about it here. the same sentiments were said then and well, nothing ever came of it.

the wheels on the last truck shown are impressive:cool:

Arch is right! In Europe where truck racing is big, there is a lot more traction for these races to happen.

What I'd like to know is, are these drivers doing themselves all the mods on these truck bodies to fit them to the Mini-Z or is there someone out there, who have a Mini-Z ready custom molded kit ?

It is a 02 in MM, but with H RM. Unfortunately, it no longer I have the body or chassis :( (I made it in 2008)

i took that pic when i was in hk see this thread (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12050&highlight=r%2Fc+heaven) it is a pretty cool idea, i believe that there are some videos on youtube… i think LM tires - with the beefier profile would look great on this scale… great work and thanks for sharing :D

check with alain to see if he can't model up some truck bodies made with mini-z nose clip mounts and side body clips. they are going to be expensive simply due to mass of materials but still within reason given the rising cost of autoscales.

Well, I like the FLY trucks, so I'm going to make one anyhow.
Would be cool if you could get them from Kyosho, since you then didn't have to make mounting for them.

I haven't found a white body yet.

if kyosho made them, no telling how expensive they would be  would it be fun to race commercial truck bodies, absolutely. am i willing to pay $60-70 for a body to adapt, no, no more than i'm willing to pay that much for a finished autoscale. it may be cheaper to get a 3d printed truck with mini-z mounts built in but won't know unless alain checks it out.

good luck though and i hope your efforts turn out successful. it's looks to be plenty of fun, which is the whole point to racing these things :p

Yeah I know about the expenses and I don't "like" it, but I love to fix things myself.
It's a pitty all these bodys get very expensive.

I just run white bodys, but it would be cool if I could run some ASC from time to time.

Yokomo was going to release its own 1/28 scale chassis, and one of the bodies that was going to be made available was the race trucks... This was almost 10 years ago

Too bad they scrapped the whole idea
