This 90MM motor pod and damper system was suggested to me by atomicmods.com. According to atomicmods these 2 items will allow me to fit my Lamborghini Countach (90MM) body on my Mini Z MR-03 chassis.

This is the motor pod:
http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/Atomic-AR-265-BK-MR-0203-90mm-WB-Motor-Mount-Gun-Black__15576.aspx

This is the damper system:
http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/Atomic-AR-265-BKDPS-DPS-set-for-AR-265-Motor-Pod-Black__15577.aspx

My question is about the damper system. I see no springs. How does this damper system work without springs????

I see no springs. I need this damper but I can't purchase it because something doesn't seem right. What will absorb the bumps if their is no springs?

The product doesn't include springs. That means you have to go buy a dds spring set separately from that item...

the damper will work via friction and grease you put to the discs. you only need spring for the top shock. nevertheless you need to buy the small spring needed for the small disc to push down the big disc to generate the friction.

you need the spring on the top right corner of the picture.

The motor mount looks beautiful but the damper has no springs. How does it work?

Also does it come with instructions?

Also please suggest the fastest motor that my stock electronics can handle and would fit the motor pod you suggested?

i just bought this 90mm mount last week. i do like it but you do have to buy damper plates, post, and plate springs separately. it doesn't come with instructions, but they are downloadable from their site

Although i'm a big fan of epic powerful motors they mosttimes have no real place for racing Mr03's (unless you've got reactions like the top racers and a high end controller to adjust your powerband).

Try out different 'spec" racing motors...you'll get great action once prepared for good brush contact on the armature.

1. The pn motor mount works exactly the same as the atomic mount. Both use a damper plate and don't include the springs, so you need to buy those.

2. yes...

3. If I understand, you are new to miniz. You wanting to setup a 90mm car is not going to help your driving. You will have a lot trouble driving it because it's twitchy and likes to flip over. The fastest motor you should probably run is a pn racing 80t. Any faster and the car will only flip more. The 90mm cars take a lot of tuning and still always flip over (from my observations).

We can always set him up on Kyosho 40 slicks up front, that'll stop traction rolling. :D

The other good idea is to run only the Kyosho box-stock motor for the first few weeks, hopefully wherever he's running the Mini-Z at has a Box Stock class that he can acquaint himself with. If there's no track, then it doesn't really matter what motor you throw in the car, everything's going to seem slow when you're out on the street or just bashing around in a large indoor room.

Can you please give me links to where I can purchase the damper plates, post and plate springs?

Does Kenon Hobby have them?

Also can you suggest a good motor that will fit this motor mount?

And I understand with this setup I will be able to mount my Lamborghini Countach body right?

Thank You.

I bought mine from the track/shop here locally, but of course you can also get them online.

damper plates: http://www.atomicmods.com/Products/PN-Racing-MR2068W-Mini-Z-MR-02-V2-Delrin-Disc-Set-(2pcs)__14828.aspx

Post: PN has a few of them, check with them to see which one you need. (I'm not sure which one I used b/c I got it from Shawn our track owner who had it loose: but here's one http://www.kenonhobby.com/PN-Racing-MR02-Alum-Disk-Damper-Post--Silver_p_42218.html

Disk springs, someone posted a link above: http://www.kenonhobby.com/PN-Racing-Mini-Z-Disk-Damper-Spring-Set-3-pairs_p_42677.html

for motor, i personally like the kyosho x-speed motors, but since they dont have holes for motor screws, i'd start with a PN 70t or 50t and see from there.

for body, i dont have a Countach so i can't really speak about that. at worst, u may have to dremel a bit to get clearance, but i dont know, never used that body
