The new MR-03 I bought yesterday has a servo that won't keep quiet! It keeps chattering and twitching and I'm not sure why, or what I can do about it. Help please!

Also, on an unrelated note, is a gyro a worthy investment?

I know there are probably answers to these questions on this forum, but I can really only access the internet once a day, and not for long which makes it rather hard to search for answers...

Is it just making noises, or is it actually moving/twitching as well? My MR03 makes some noises sometimes, but doesn't physically twitch at all.

Thanks for the prompt reply. As for dropping by, I'm actually out of the country right now, which is why I have such limited internet. But I will definitely consider going when I return!

When the car is just at neutral, the wheels don't appear to move, but when I move the steering to the right or left, there is a small but noticeable movement in the wheels left and right, like it's constantly trying to center itself.

the 03 are well known for this , one cause is a slight amount of play on the pin that goes to the steering pot , there is a thread that tells you how to remove the play
i also put a small amount of thin grease on the servo gears this seems to help with any play
if there is even a small amount of play in the servo components it will cause the car to keep trying to centre the steering that is the chatter you are getting

Mania: I'm curious to know, where you able to fix it? If so, what did you do to fix it?

No, it's actually gotten a little bit worse, though not as bad as the one you posted before your fix. I was considering trying out your trick when I got back since I don't even have CA glue here, but I'm not exactly in a hurry to probably messing something up.

If it's getting worse with time I expect it to be a wear item -- how old are your servo saver and gears? I have a mild chatter on my 03 but I'm 99% sure it's because the servo saver has never been cleaned or replaced...

Just under a month old, and I haven't really run it that much.

Just becareful when you use ca glue. Use the medium ca and only a tiny bit on the tip of your x-acto knife.

Keep us posted.
