View Full Version : PN's independent front suspension?? and Atomic SAS or Kyosho?

What ever happened to PN's independent front suspension setup.. is it yet another development that died? I've been away from these forums & most RC for quite awhile. My Mini-Z has been sitting on a shelf even longer though, as I broke the stock upper knuckle retainer on one side & decided to shelf it until the PN setup hit the market. (then got distracted by life, again :p) If the PN setup's a goner, is there anything else out there superior to the stock design?

Also, I see that Kyosho finally brought out their own independent rear suspension. I see that it's, of course, drastically overpriced as well. (though can be had a bit cheaper if you shop around) Are there any advantages to it, over Atomic's alternative? I also just noticed that Atomic's got theirs marked out of stock.. has it been discontinued or something? :( Sorry for all the questions. As stated, I've been away for some time. As always, thanks in advance!

(..oh yea, as per my sig, these questions pertain to my MA-010)

The PN Mini-Z MA-010 A-Arm Front Suspension Kit is on the market, but it costs a fortune.
The Atomic rear SAS is not discontinued. It even has a new version (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37012).
Cheers.

Cool, thanks! And yea.. I just googled the PN set, written as you typed it. $119

If anybody has thoughts on the PN front suspension's performance, as well as Atomik's SAS vs. Kyosho's alternative, I'm still all ears on those. :)

So what lead me to believe/ask if Atomic's SAS had been discontinued was that I had previously been checking products & availability by way of this site:
(which I now realize doesn't even list the latest SAS version etc)

http://www.atomicmods.com/search.aspx?keyword=sas

What's the deal - are they no longer a viable US dealer of Atomic products, and if not, is there one? I'm interested in various other parts of theirs..

Thanks! :)

Read these two threads:
PN Front (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31678) and DWS (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34741&highlight=DWS+SAS).
There should be some answers to your questions.
About Atomic USA distributor - don't know. I know that some online US shops support Atomic parts. I personally buy Atomic parts from Hong Kong (EGR).

there are a few u.s. retailers for atomic, of which, we are one (see shop link above). there is not a sole distributor for the u.s., as is the case for some other manufacturers.

the north american market atomic rep. also participates on our our forums, he also takes comments, questions, etc. within the atomic vendors forum.

Thanks for the info guys. Previously I'd just assumed a US based site with a name like "atomicmods.com" would be our (US) official distributor, as that's what a friend led me to believe. :o

Atomicmods is not affiliated with RC Atomic. Atomicmods originally focused on the Xmods, but since they went the way of the dodo they switched to Z's.

I'd recommend TinyRC (http://shop.tinyrc.com/) or reflexracing.net for your atomic needs instead. :)

Thanks.. I've eyed TinyRC many times though have yet to order from them. They've got a few hard to find Atomic parts I'd like to snag for my lil Inferno too though, so maybe next month. :)
