X-Mod Evo Truck Yellow Hummer Project from Portugal!

I got this project completed over 2 years ago... so now i decided to show you what we can do to an evo truck from the xmods... If someone knows what a "vader" is... this on the end is just miles away from it... speedy and controlable! but as all things start at the very begining... like a baby!

(Yes, they need hobby grade pcb and full alloy to become serious rc machine... only then, and very very track capable... but you need to spent almost a year building them, just like 20 hours a week of work on full year, spent big money, build, race, rebuild, race, build, cry, (by build i mean hoping up) have patience, they got secrets, they got error's even from GPM, they got body errors to... but when all sorted out... yupiiiii)

A "kid" in 1 week of hoping his xmods with li-po 7.4v and chillis, will broke all of it, and forget it....mostly because of runing it on the streets... lol

So my history, now...

-All started in here! 100% New in a box on 2010!

-The back of the box! Actually bought new in a box in my own country! Where on this scale the miniz's are kings (with merit) ;) )

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/x3200rolamentos.jpg
-The bearings upgrade... (got to start somewhere)

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/x3200GPMpartsupgrades_1.jpg
-More stuff...and what i learned, this car is a very upgradedable one... (xmod)

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/x3200dogbonescomgarrafoLuso.jpg
-Well... it's a working thing waiting for the real dogbones... but actually worked very well...

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/6_X3200Lusodogbone.jpg
-The working DIY dogbone... as you can guess it broked after 3 sets of charges in the AAA's.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/7_x3200stockaxleandplasticbearings.jpg
-The plastic dogbone and plastic bearings....(bearings?) "bushings hell"

-The GPM comes with delrin bushings, better then stock bushing but metal bearings are the goal!!

-The plastic nuts are nuts!! They really need an update... even with all stock fets, stock cells and stock motor they tend to fall off....

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/15_29042010191.jpg

-More horses to come ... 6cell upgrade. Toke a long time to center it! to make it stable on corners, it's not perfect but does the minimal job! The 6cell give a lot of power and punch to it! It's nice to see suchs speeds!

The 6 cell upgrade had made my stage 2motor....broken.... (i had found later that was not the 6 cells upgrade)

-The fried Stage 2 (30.000rpm) motor...
-Well it's got a nice speed, but runs very, very hot... so it fried... and my fet's to!!! :( "THE FETS BURNED BECAUSE I HAD GEARS RUBBING/GRIDING/binding, whatever stucked" )

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/39_14052010253.jpg

Well i got this a few days ago, and the only thing i can tell, is i have to charge them over night (8hours), because on the instructuions they say they dont like 15minutes chargers!
BUT, when "charged" they are a very SICK, sick and PUNCHY ones.
Very very EXTREMELY punchy. Someone says it's the best of the best in the world... i don't know... what i know is they are diferent from all of the others! Believe me!
(i get excited on that time...)

Let's bold again!

And i got a problem (solved)

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/90_03092010458.jpg
-In this picture the brushes are halfway... ok, more 2 months to play :)

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/91_03092010460.jpg
-This was the real problem.... the pinion is loose. Thank god it's that! I Get rid of the ten tooth, and puted a 11 tooth pinion. Works like new.
(the hole on the pinion is now biger then the motor arm, so it spins but the car wont move....)

I guess that puting the new tires, helped the pinion "habitueted" to bold ones, getting loose!!

Time for alloy pinions and hex screw on them!

-All front bearings ready do install!

Later i will post more photos , and the oil i use now for bearings....it's better than new... i really can hear the balls inside the bearings inside rooling!
They roll like good! Not like ceramic bearings ... not exactly but close!! :)
Very VERY gOOd oil for bearings... it's another thing...believe me!

And it's not because of the cleaning process, because i used it cleaned with wd40, for two days, and puted on the third the bearing oil, and the diference is night and day!

-And finally i hope i found the secret to loose pinions.... a hex screw on a screw pinion should resolve the losen pinions :)

Some little video to show the work in progress! :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2W5qWJo0Q0

-And some grease i now use to keep the gearings spining OK! yeah i use that on the gears and on the diferentials. It works WELL!
http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/124_28092010549.jpg
-This is for ball diferentials... but i use them on gears to... they roll...and greased :)

-At these speeds, the car with the body flips almost always when cornering.. but that's because of the 2 extra cells on top....got go to li-fe's or lith's on bottom.

The jerky/jiter steering of the remote kills me! It's always jiterin...(from left to right lo left to right, arghhhhhhhh)

I am been a little crazy this time...

**** happens when you got a remote like the xmods.Steering jitter leeds to this....

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18/fronterasportforum/Carson%20X3200%20-%20Xmod%20Evo%20Truck/139_06102010594.jpg

-Li-fe ones with the body.

What i can tell is this:

-Car much lighter, no stressing cables, and no batery tray, the 4 and the 2 extra.
-Now i get control on corners!... only the x-mod PCB is a crap **** even worse the remote!... but for now, does the job!
-The baterys having 6.6v, are much more punchy, HARDCORE speed than 6cells of 1.2v (PATETIC) compared to that!

And to get the crown.... i burned the reverse when puting the power cables for the Li-fe ones... it short-circuit and melted imidiatly the antena... and now the car does not reverse!! (i had the baterys conected when testing the cables for power) :( it's life... sometimes you loose! No big deal

huh...how many tires you going through?! I've got tons of stock Xtruck tires, would you like some? lol.

if you're lowering it have you thought of using slammed rims? wider tread, put more power to the ground.
