LOCATION:
The Myrtle Beach Mall (http://www.shopmyrtlebeachmall.com/)
10177 N Kings Hwy
Myrtle Beach, SC 29572

If you look at this map (it's hard to read) we are in number 70.
http://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv77/MBMZR/LETs%20Go%20Racing/mallMap.gif

It's in the green section, in the middle of the middle section. If you come in by the theater (Carmike 12), you turn right, and we are on the right. If you come in the entrance just south (left on the mall map), you come in and turn left, and we are on the left. As early as most of us are going to be showing up, the prime parking spots will be available. The entrance next to the theater is closer for those parking in handicap spots, otherwise, they are equal. The bottom of this map faces the main highway (17), so you need to come around the back of the mall to get to those doors. I usually come in around the Bass Pro end, as it will be bring you right to the doors I recommend coming into.

HOTELS:
As you know, Myrtle Beach is full of 'em :D There are a number of hotels on the beach, and we are very centrally located between Myrtle and N Myrtle. Any hotel you chose won't be too far. I will give links to a few that look like good choices to me. I don't stay in hotels too often at the beach so my experience is limited.

The Fairfield Inn (http://www.myrtlebeachfairfieldinn.com/) is the absolute closest hotel, and is less than a quarter of a mile away.

There is a Courtyard by Marriott (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/myrcn-courtyard-myrtle-beach-barefoot-landing/) at Barefoot Landing, which is right down the road, and is a shopping and restaurant mecca for those bringing family along.

Feel free to make any recommendations you know, or ask me any more questions you might have. Look forward to seeing every one again!

There won't be a 70t pan class this year, so we could look at doing mod pan and mod GT. Id like to see what classes are on the roster before making a final decision.

I will get more details up today. Thought I was going to finalize things over the weekend, but ended up being too busy to accomplish everything I wanted to.

I am going to be offering up every class PN has on the roster, and turning this into a two day event. For us to do 4 rounds of qualifying, we would have to only run two classes to get it all in one day. I would rather stretch it to two days, and give every one ample tuning/practice time, and also be able to offer all the classes.

I will run all the classes that we get at least 8 participants, except the kids class. I will run that as long as we get 3 entries.

I will be starting early on Sunday so that every one can make it back home at a decent time for work on monday :D

Kid"s class at a Regional? Are there provisions in the rules for that? Great if there is. What if the "kid" would prefer to get a ranking toward the World's.

hrdrvr
2012.03.05, 12:53 PM
If the kids guardian wants to pay the full entry fee, and the car meets the GT Stock class rules then I will submit them. I usually let the kids save money with a reduced fee, but this will not be an option if I make them use hand-out motors and play by the rules that apply to the rankings.

mleemor60
2012.03.05, 12:55 PM
No concerns with cost. If the kid want's an adult portion then it's the adult price whether he can eat it or not.

i will be running for sure (will have to leave early on the 14th due to a wedding but i will make an A main qual before i leave lol. i think i can get mariah to run the kids class as well. i know she will want to. and my brother will also be down would he be allowed to run the kids class as well being he has no experience?

Rules and pictures added to first post! Drivers list added to the second. Check the rules, and let me know what you want to run! I talked to some guys at the track yesterday at HS, but can't remember what every one said they were going to run. Even if you told me, post it up, or hit me with a PM with what you intend to run so I can put it on the list. Remember I will not hold you to this commitment. It is just so every one can get an idea of what participation levels will be like for each class.

kwsmith29
2012.03.19, 12:39 PM
You know me , I'm in for what ever were running. I know Josh will be in for GT 70turn, Pan , and LM for sure..

Need entry fees.

Wade

hrdrvr
2012.03.19, 01:16 PM
Wade, entry fees will be $25 for the first class, and $10 for each after that. GT mod, and Pan mod, are open motor (well open PN motor), and the other three classes will be hand-out motor classes. Of course you get to keep your hand out motors.

I will add the fees to the first post.

hrdrvr
2012.03.19, 01:37 PM
Yeah, Rodney said he was going to run everything we ran, and Conner was coming, but he didn't say what Connor was running. I would guess pan and GT 70T, but don't want to make assumptions :D If you talk to him, and he gives you any idea, let me know, and Ill get Conner on the list too. By the looks of the initial commitments, I think we will be able to get 8 racers for all 5 classes.

Driver's List updated. This is shaping up to be one of the biggest MBMZR events ever and should easily be the biggest event we've had at LET's so far! We still have a few undecided locals to add to the list, as well as a handful or more other people who have said they were going to come down, but haven't posted yet :D

I updated the Driver's list. It's filling in nicely, and I still know of a couple more names I will be adding soon.

John, What's up with Mariah and your brother? He would be allowed in the Novice class :D I just changed it, as there may be one other adult running in it as well. That class is limited to kids, and drivers with very little race experience only.

Jay, it will be awesome to see you again. It was good catching up over the phone, but nothing like it will be chatting track side.

I hope Marwan still tries to come out. I haven't seen him since the race at Hobby Town.

2012.04.09, 12:41 PM
Less than a week away!! Who's excited? I am :D

I updated the first post with a schedule that should be rather easy to keep up with. There is quite a bit of practice time, and allowance for unforeseeable circumstances, so the finish times should be easy to hit. There is plenty of practice time in the schedule, but we could make more by tightening up the schedule within the heats.

I will hand the hand-out motors on Friday in the PM sometime, if there is interest in getting them. There will be a no exceptions rule, that you have to turn your motor in in Friday and Saturday night before you leave the track. If any hand-out motor leaves the store for any reason at all during the event, that driver will be DQ'ed for that class for the remainder of the event. We will have a safe impound location, so if drivers prefer to leave their motors in their cars, they can turn in the entire set up if they so chose.

Also, like DR said, I have already received the prize package from PN. I will be adding some stuff to it form the store, and JB is sending me a custom painted PN themed LM body to give away. He's given me some hints about what it is going to look like, and I must say, this is going to me one of the more special bodies Ive ever given away. His PN themed world body was awesome, and this has the chance to eclipse that pretty heavily :D

I look forward to seeing every one!

hrdrvr
2012.04.11, 10:39 PM
Okay, small change. I wrote the projected schedule based on the posted Driver's List. I got confirmation this week from a couple of "maybes", and reworked it tonight. We have roughly 30 drivers, and 80 entries! That works out to 16 heats and 12 mains! We are going to have two packed days of racing action, and from what it sounds like for Friday, we may as well call it 3 packed days :D This will be my biggest event yet, and with the crew being warmed up after our first two LET's events, this should be the smoothest event with the most competitive racing we have had yet in the new store. I'm uber stoked!

Based on the posted schedule, and the new information, we will either have to shorten the time between heats, or the practice sessions between rounds. We will leave it like it stands, and know that the start time for each round is concrete. We will push the event along as fast as possible to preserve as much of those practice sessions as we can. Be ready to move at a frantic pace for 32 hours of intense racing action! Sarah will have more detailed schedules with the most accurate information posted around the store, as well as having some to pass out for those who chose to keep a copy at their pit.

Was that one intense weekend or what? Thank you Landon and Sarah for putting on and running this great event. I had a good time, enjoyed the racing, seeing some old faces and meeting new folks. Thanks to DR, Chad and the rest of the MB crew for the hospitality and sharing their pit area with an outsider ;) I look forward to the next big event.

That was an awesome race weekend. We ended up having 67 races over the course of the 2 days, and very few delays. I think everything ran smooth, and it seems like every one had a good time...I know I did. It's always more fun when you perform well, and I have to be very proud of how I did.

I really wanted to win F1, and at the end of the race, I had a better car than Rodney. I made up enough time to close it down to within one mistake, but he just didn't make that late mistake I needed him to. I had the fastest 5 minute run of the weekend in pan, and despite a couple of major accidents, still managed to put the field two full laps down. I knew I had the car to win2WS, but in the end I didn't really take it from Chad. He out-paced me, and out-0raced me, but a glitch on the last lap had him in the wall on the straight, and let me by for the win. He passed me twice clean, but one too many mistakes let me stay close enough that the glitch cost him the win. My car was the second slowest on the track, but it was good enough that I only bumped the wall twice the entire race.

I took 2 wins in the 3 classes I raced, and finished closely behind Rodney for second in the third. Rodney won 3 out of five classes overall, and had a third and fourth in the other two classes, so a very strong performance. Chad also had a great weekend, in his first major event racing for Reflex. He scored 3 second place finishes, and a third to end up on the podium in every class he raced. We had some other stand outs as well. Marwan put his GT Mod car on the podium with a very strong run, Bryson won the novice class in a car he had only owned for 3 days, and James finished third in the Novice class, also with a car he just acquired the week before. Daddy Rabbit mad some good runs to get a couple of A-Main appearances, including a 5th place Pan Mod finish! Josh Smith stepped it up bigger than I have ever seen him. He beat his dad in 3 of 5 classes  Another big surprise was Collin Hanna holding down TQ in the LM class for three rounds. Rodney ended up taking the TQ honors in the 4th round, but Collin kept second, while running a box stock LM car with the only upgrade being the hand-out motor! His dad, Eric, also ran a totally stock car with the hand-out motor, and although he didn't qualify as good as he wanted too (7th in the A), he made his way up to second to share the podium with Collin (3rd) and Rodney (1st).

A big thanks has to go out to Chris and Sarah. They made this event what it was. While I did a lot of the prep and behind the scenes stuff, these guys are the ones who really put it together on race days. They deserve the majority of the credit for making the event as successful as it was.

Another thanks has to go out to all you racers who came and supported our event, our store, and the PNWC series. I can;t wait to see how we stack up against the world :D

Here are the results for all of the qualifying.

Vids normally take a little longer as he has to edit them then upload them and then post them. And with his slow internet connection it takes some time. Im sure he will get them up shortly

Oh Jay! You always seem to know what to say! It almost brings a tear to my eye.
ESPECIALLY WHEN I THINK ABOUT YOU STOMPING ON MY LM CAR

It was an old mini z ninja mind control trick used to enhance driver performance.

Imagine how poorly you might have run had you not been influeced by the powers of the mini z ninja?;)

I appreciate that Chad, and I don't want to be a nag, but I know if Landon doesn't do it soon, it won't happen :o

If it makes you feel better, then keep telling yourself that. You're still my buddy, even though YOU STEPPED ON MY FREAK'N CAR DURING A RACE

lol, That was a memorable moment for sure! I could see the look of fear in Jay's eyes, and Marwan had fire coming out of his ears! :D The sound was horrid......made it seem like it was totally crushed, but it was just the rail pins making all the noise :D

Sorry about not getting them up yesterday. My dad (even though he was feeling bad), and Sarah tag teamed the store to give me a day off (first one in months it seems like!), so I didn't get them up yesterday. They are all uploading to youtube right now. If you subscribe to my channel, I am pretty sure you will get notifications when they complete. Otherwise you can just check back there for the status, or wait for me to post them here once they are all up.....probably tomorrow sometime.

You can get to my channel by clicking this link (http://www.youtube.com/freekfornature).
