So a gyro is a kind of like traction control on a real car?

This video illustrates it well.

More like stability control. If the cars drifts to the left, then the gyro will apply slight right steering to regain control. As the car rotates, the gyro compensates with steering.

In the Mini-z via the ICS connection, you can also adjust the throttle control of the gyro. From what I've noticed, the more "out of shape" a car gets, the more the throttle will be reduced.

Cool videos! Did you notice if the MA-015 has the reverese delay that the 2.4 MA-010 had or has this been fixed on the new board?

I'm making an assumption here but given it has the gyro, I'm assuming it is more like an Mr-03 board. Unfortunantly, I did not plug in the ICS connection to confirm if "Back timing" was adjustable.

Either way, without any voodoo transmitter trimming, reverse worked without any frustration. Given most people don't have the ability to tune through ICS and will just use their radio, and the fact it worked without any adjustments, I'd say it is fixed.

That would be great news!
Can "Chase Mode" be disabled easily? I've read conflicting statements.

With the F1 MF-015 I recenlty had, it was easy. The car has it disabled at first. To enable it, when the car is already on, you hold the pairing button until the pairing light blinks. Same thing to disable it. You don't even need an ICS cable and laptop to do it.

Thanks for the info about disabling chase mode and sorry to get off topic here, but do you recall if the MF-015 F1 you mentioned was similar to the MA-015 with respect to reverse? Thanks!

Well, My race mini-z is an old mr-02 ASF so I KNOW the frustration of the reverse. I can say on both the MA-015 and MF-015, I never had a problem engaging reverse.

Hopefully I can find some time, fire up the ICS software, and see if backtiming can be adjusted like an Mr-03. Again, without any adjustment, I had no issues with reverse and didn't even have to trim the radio for reverse to be reliable.

Thanks again! If you find out anything further on this issue, please post it HERE (http://mini-zracer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37851). :)

If a moderator sees this, it would be nice to move the last few posts from here to the tread mentioned above. Thanks!

Reverse on the MA-015 is the same as the MR03, same adjustments in ICS as well.

Many thanks for your confirmation! This is very good news for engaging in awd racing again!
It`s a shame this matter has not been answered in the specific thread...
