View Full Version : Ride height too low on double a-arm setup

2012.03.25, 07:19 PM
I received this question via E-mail. Since I don't own a double a-arm setup for the mr-03, wondering if some forum members can chime in.

The question
"I put it all together but alot has changed. body doesn't fit right, Makin her bottom out on turns, can't figure out the adjustments, is very confusing. but the whole front I think is complete, I put all the pieces on but it seems like the front end is very low and I can't lift it any higher, and I can't seem to figure out how to work the other adjustment, I think its the camber."

And pics.

the threaded shaft that holds the springs in place can be turned to allow ride height of the arms.

I had to add a shim under the spring holders. That did the trick for mine. I'm really liking the a-arm on the 03, I've even got one for my other chassis.

After installing the Double A arm setup on my mr-03 the height was slightly higher than my original setup. They must be putting something in the wrong place if the car is sitting too low after install.

a lot of the height issues are due to front tire diameter. The front can be high if you are running new full height tires. if you are truing the tires down than that is where the spacer is needed. I'm starting my tires trued to 22.5mm and it's just perfect.

I take my statement back. The person with the problem probably tightened the spring screw all the way in. I would suggest adding a bit a loctite on the screw that holds the spring and back it out to the desired height.
