Hey gang,

This is an almost complete project of mine.

A while back while perusing an online racing forum I happened upon a great version of the Honda HSV-010. It combined a great "SuperGT" look of the Honda HSV competitor with its close affiliation with Respol. If anyone is familiar with motorsport you've seen the scheme before in MotoGP among others...

Here is the link of the racing game shot I wanted to mimic:

recently, I decided to go ahead with my version of the Repsol Honda HSV. With some fantastic help from hrdrvr of LetsGoRacing with a purchase of the whitebody and helping me lay down a very close paint scheme it was left to me to get the water slide decals and arrange a close resemblance of sponsership logos around the shell. This is 95% done at this point with a few final decals to install and then a protective coating so I can race it...

I was a bit disappointed that the scale of some of the decals couldn't be a little closer to the size I had hoped to acheive but overall i'm super pleased with the finish. Landon really got me started with the paint and the decal work and finish will be completely done in time for our local summer race series.

hope you enjoy.:)

That looks awesome with the decals on it D! I can't wait to see it with some wheels :D

Gonna have to see it mounted with wheels. :) I think the smallish Repsol decal takes away from some of the impact of the original scheme. Also, a little outlining of the hood decal will do a lot of good too. Already more effort put into it than 99% of the racing bodies I've seen though so good work (and Landon too!). :p

You and I are both of the same opinion about the side decals Brian...it's bugging me a bit so I'm looking out for a better size.

The biggest praise goes to Landon for giving me a good base (paint job) to work with.

I'm pretty sure the chassis build to go with this will impress. ;)

Not sure where you got your decals but pattosplace.com has a TON of decals (on most of my bodies), and you can get them made in almost any scale size.

I'm pretty sure I've got the necessary decals to make the body look more true to form.

after spending close to $100 (in total over 2 orders) it better look good.:D

FYI, BNA Model World in Australia seems to have a great selection of decals and kits and the shipping is fairly reasonable as well.

My parts come from Reflex this week and the decals should be here by next week so stay tuned for an MR03 pic in the near future.

Just saw some pics of the final clearcoat being done at Let's Go Racing...Landon has made it super shiny.

Hope to get some shots here soon.

So when will you be using this body? The local meets are often not kind to bodies.

It'll be a whistler track racer...with a little more room and fewer savage racers it'll fair better than on the widened mini track.

JSYK, I don't really care when my bodies get hit...I have to sound indignant just to try and keep awareness about unfair racing.

You wouldn't get hit if you stopped driving in front of other peoples cars!

btw, great job on the body, I am looking forward to seeing it.

I didn't say I wasn't one of the savages...just implied it.

I'm kind of like a HRT among a lot of Ferrari and McLarens...sometimes I'm an unfortunate speed bump. :D
