It will only work with the MiniZ board, there are no electronics to process the signal on the gyro board itself its all handled by the MiniZ board.

Can the gyro be hard wired to the older mini-z boards?

Pretty much only the boards that are designed to have the gyro can use it. Not positive if any of the older 27mhz boards had the connector for the gyro. You need the 2.4ghz board.

OK, not what I wanted to hear, but thanx anyhow!!

It will work with the older 2.4ghz boards too(02/awd boards)

I was hoping to hardwire in to my older F-1.

I was hoping to hardwire in to my older F-1.

One of our club members hard wired one into his MR02 asf.

I was hoping to hardwire in to my older F-1.

I dont recall reading this anywhere but does the giro help in controlling the f1? It's finicky to drive and setup and always looking for something to make it consistent.

Just wondering which wires go where. I'd assume one would go to power, one to ground and one to steering servo.

I'd like to see how this is hard wired myself.

Ill find out how he did it on his 02,maybe even get a pic or 2 :)

thanks. given it connects via ICS port, i'm sure it's just a matter of tracing the points. it just seems like it would be more complicated than that.

Just wondering which wires go where. I'd assume one would go to power, one to ground and one to steering servo.

One goes to an A/D line that runs back to the micro. The gyro output is read and used to correct the steering servo. There is no direct link from the gyro to the servo wiring.

Gyro voltage level -> uP Analog to Digital port -> adjusted servo output
