Good morning, evening,or just X,:)

I have had my Mini-z for around a year now and it has been a blast.. but now I am looking into upgrading it with a new body and wheels... I have the NISMO Silvia R-Tune MR015 RM....http://www.rceasy.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/103_main_lg.jpg I was wondering if anyone knows of a Racing shell that would fit this car... i love the Countach LP500S (black) and my fav is the AUDI R8 LEMANS but they don't fit it, nor do any of the Aston Martin shells.. I -believe- the wheel width is 90mm. I would greatly appreciate your help on this subject!(also I would be willing to pay about $10 or $15 on a wheel length kit, but the total (shell+kit needs to = $50) :)

Sincerely,
usp2333 -Silva-

BTW; how much does it cost to get FET's 3 stacked by someone?

It's unlikely you'll find anything other than used gear for your price outline.

I'd suggest a thread in the Buy Sell Trade section

If your chassis/body are 90mm now, couldn't you just move the t-plate and make it 94mm? 94mm is a good racing length and lots of bodies available.

Your MR-015RM is a 90mm wheelbase car, you are correct, but it can easily be made into a 94mm wheelbase car just by unscrewing the T-plate and moving it from the middle set of holes in the bottom of your chassis, to the rearmost set of holes. This will turn it into a 94mm wheelbase car, and from there you have a lot of options with regards to finding a racing-type body. The Ferrari F430GT and 360GTC are great racing bodies in 94mm, as well as the Lexus SC430. :)

wow.... I've looked at the underside of my car before, to see if the T-plate would move.... I just looked at it now and there are more notches XD, weird how you just miss something.... anyway thanks a lot for the info:) I greatly appreciate it! -Also my favorate body in the whole world is the ASTON MARTIN Racing DBR9 as seen here- http://www.saltlakemini-z.com/Zen_Cart/images/Kyosho/MZP212L9.JPG -the only thing is, that is for the MM MR02.. will that body or another astonmartinracing body fit my mr015 (that is now 94mm long)

(BTW ill pick some of my favorite shells and ask which ones you all like best!:)-)

Also i saw a Gallardo in a video... anyone know where I can find that?

Thanks, Sincerely

I've had both those and I'd say the NSX has a bit more performance and durability over the DTM.

Alright.. Finally I have my top pics (car shells) for the MR015 RM (94mm) but I still have a favorate! The AUDI R8 LMS... it looks great and has huge width on the tires (I like that because I drive on dusty wood :) ).

So my reason for asking this is, I dont want some fancy Aluminum frame mount that costs one million dollars (I'm exaggerating I know)
All i want is the stock plastic MM mount that will fit my MR015! all of the aluminum mounts cost round $16 to $32 since the R8 is MM, do any of you know where I can find a cheap MM?(maby even used but in good shape(sturdy)).

Thank you for your input!

Sincerely,

The autoscale body comes with stock front clip and wheelset in appropriate offsets.

Sorry.. I know I'm sounding really dumb right now, but what do you mean?

1. that it comes with a MM motor mount?(that would be totally amazing!)
2. or that the rims come with a appropriate width (that I know).

CLARIFICATION: I meant where can i find the cheapest MM motor mount?

cheapest will be used on ebay, the marketplace here or other RC forum.

You are looking for Kyosho part number MZ204. Quite likely available through TinyRC, our forum benefactor. Access to them is at the top of this page.

Ah...I totally misread that.

I have an extra 98mm alloy mount that'd do you if you have motor with screw holes for mounting....super cheap if you want it.

Pm me if that works for you.

The Audi R8 body I think you are referring to is made for the MA-015. If you buy the autoscale version the wheels that it comes with won't fit your MR015.

Is this guy correct? If he is, what would be "the problem"? and how could I fix the problem.

The problem is that the MA015 and MR015 are two very different chassis, one AWD, one RWD. The wheels that come with the AWD Audi R8 will not fit on your MR015 no matter what motor mount you use. The body will fit, but not the wheels. You can always fit your own wheels to it (I suggest the Kyosho RE30 replicas if you can find them), but you will be on your own whenever you adapt an AWD Autoscale to a RWD Mini-Z chassis.

Thank you... Ill try to find those Kyosho RE30 wheels in black.... In the mean time ill look for some bodies that I like more!(that will be hard).

I know this is weird posting 4 times in a row but I think this is a needed question... The Aston Martin Racing DBR9 that I gave a link for earlier in a post, it lacks character. (if you know what I mean) the Subaru Impreza WRX and Ford Focus have charecter, but the Aston really... does'nt (in my mind) yes... it has astounding looks, but it's a bit like a Alpha Romeo 8C it looks great but it is horrible in the corners+strights. I guss what I am trying to say is.. is there a body besides the Subaru (not wide tire+MA10) the Focus (not wide tire) and Audi R8 LMS (MA10) that has Charecter and wide grip? Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,

I'm not sure what you're getting at but the DBR9 has character, how would you know if you've yet to drive it? It is not a particularly fast body, that much is true though. Get a Mosler if you need grip, but keep in mind most come unpainted.

other wide bodies (http://www.mini-z-guide.com/bodies.htm) include the; 599xx, f430gt-c, f360gt-c, c5-r, mclaren f1, 2008 gt-r, 575gt-cc.

Thank you for all of your help! I think now I have it narrowed down to the following cars.(btw could someone kindly provide me with the 599 N-/W-? thanks!)

So I was out roaming around on the "Net" and I stumbled on a guy with a 2WD Miniz (ferarri 599xx shell) drifting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqmi1W_yMKA and I was amazed... My "first love" is drifting and the reason I got a mr015 was because a. I knew nothing about z's and b. they tend to be a bit too high priced for my budget xD! ( you all already know this) but you can attach a gyro to your car and it will Auto counter-steer to some degree. I was wondering if you all knew a. where to find one and how much it costs. and b. if it will attach to my MR015, because that would be just amazing! (im liking the a. and b. stuff xD!) anyway thanks in advance for all of the endless assistance :)

I was about to be seriously impressed, then I saw the word "gyro".

The TRP gyro is the better deal at $30-ish, should work the same as the $60 Kyosho gyro. But better yet, learn to drift the 03 without the gyro, it's stupid hard but when you get decent it's very rewarding.

After PNWC I will pull the M3 GTR back out to have another crack at it... best 2WD drifting body available for Mini-Z.

Good Luck with the PNWC hope you do well! (if you are racing)

I have a question... what makes a body good for drifting?
and is the Ferarri 599xx any good?

A gyro is unlikely to plug and play on a MR015 unless it has a 2.4GHz board.

The 599xx body is quite popular for its width/stability while still being agile...it has been surpassed by the Mosler and Audi.

But then you need the MR-03 board right?
And you need to modify the chassi tomake holes?

Black is the most difficult color for you and other racers to see.

Don't know much else about it.

Highly recommend it. Been racing the white body version for years. The only thing atleast with mine the body mounts loosely on the chassis. I tape the body tight to the chassis and it does good.
