I got my new MR-02EX back from Kyosho the other day. They had to fix the steering before I could run my new car. I tried running the car on my faux hardwood floors (Pergo) which are quite slick. The car would spin out and exhibit extreme under-steer at all but the slowest of speeds. Can you folks recommend some tires for me to try to get a little traction on my floors? I don't mind buying a few sets of front and rear tires in order to try different combinations, but I'd like to be pointed in the right direction. I looked around for some foam tires but couldn't find any. It seems that treaded tires are recommended for smooth surfaces but I just don't know what tread pattern to use or what degree of softness I need.

Thanks, Kim

Slick floors are tough for any RC car. Best results I had in our early days were acheived witha mop and a bucket! Atomic tires, like a treaded 10 degree rear and something harder on the front, like a 40 or a 30 (PN, Kyosho or Atomic).

Office style carpet or RCP surfaces are my favorites for this scale.

Can foam tires work?

I never really had much luck with them other than on asphault and concrete.

If I was running on hardwood, I'd recommend a gyro on an 02 or invest in an AWD. Our drift racing on concrete years ago was fun, too bad the only AWD offered in this scale back then were Xmods. We broke many parts and burned up too many boards!
