The 20 tooth I've been talking about recently, well here are some pics....

Notice how I had to make a new motor clip to hold it in...Still figuring out a way to use my eagle racing mono oil shock with it.....soon enough

Heh just using a Mini4wd gear...

PorscheGuy964
2002.08.12, 05:09 PM
Maybe...I don't know where it came from....I have a mini 4wd but those pinions are too big and don't fit..this one fits really tight like a stock pinion....its a mystery pinion....

Strider-
2002.08.12, 05:09 PM
Yeah its from Mini4wd.....i have alot of those, and even bigger ones too :)

PorscheGuy964
2002.08.12, 05:15 PM
if so...I recomend you try it:) its fast... but only if you have neos...I tested it with a non neo'ed motor and if would have melted the motor pod if I was using a stock plastic one...and it was slow as hell...

Hmmmm.....count the number of teeth on it again......i got 18 on mine

PorscheGuy964
2002.08.12, 05:21 PM
Its 20...I counted and counted and so did a friend....See so maybe its not from a Mini 4wd....indeed a mystery...

Strider-
2002.08.12, 05:23 PM
Well it looks exactly like the mini4wd gear.....same color too....the other gears i have are 20, and 21 teeth

Strider-

How many teeth are on the outside?

PorscheGuy964
2002.08.12, 05:27 PM
hehe this is crazy you're replying like seconds after I....good times good times...

Well like I said I have a mini-4wd and I have gears that are in the rear of the mini4wd tranny (if you can call it that) pod and NON of those fit they are loose and fall off the motor shaft. This one I found in my garage in a box of old toys and stuff.....maybe its ol' skoo'...

This blue gear sits between the pinion gear and the gear connected to the shaft......

And the gear connecting to the shaft that you're supposed to use is green..

PorscheGuy964
2002.08.12, 06:37 PM
I'm talking like replacing the magnets that are in ones motor with neos. Not the squat neos......Yes like the "Draconion Neos"

Wedginator
2002.08.12, 06:55 PM
just installed it.... crazyness!!!!

i didn't need neos on mine.... i'm using the squat bb can magnets.... i still had enough torque to do some wheel spins.... i'm gonna test it out on the street 2morrow....

PorscheGuy964

wait, are you holding your motor in with electrical tape?

Wedginator
2002.08.12, 07:08 PM
i have a whole ton of mini 4wd cars laying around.... just took one apart and installed the gear.... hehe..... i love the sound too....

I didn't hold my motor on with electrical tape, although it did come to mind.... i used electrical wire and wrapped it... then stuck the wire that was sticking out with tape....

yep, i'm using spacers..... the meshing is of the 20T part is ok, but the other part is interfering with the spur.....

Wed,

I noticed yoru using a eagle/topcad/RCRM ball diff....thats cool But did you notice how they use teh wide spur gear? I haev teh GPM ball diff and its fantastic, uses the narrow spur so mine doesn't interfer with the other side of the pinion...

Wedginator

actually I fixed the problem..... u see in the pic of my installation that i used spacer for the pinion gear? I took one off and it works fine now.. thx....
